Avante 2001 body set re-release!

I believe Tamiya will never re release the Avante 2001, a kit that sold a couple of pieces, one is mine and the other one is of Tamiya's son probably.

& can confirm there's definitely a few more that've been restored with non-original gfx...

There's no kit 58xxx number on new decal sheet, adding more weight to notion that no kit might eventuate.

Speaking of which, I sent you a PM a little while ago about GFX decals but you didn't respond. Did you miss it?

If they did decide to re-release the 2001 it would take them about 5 minutes to set it up. They initially brought back the Egress parts as limited items and many people thought that was it as far as an Egress re-re would go. Never say never.

Possibly bud I try check every weekend & clean out the spam filters but the mailserver is pretty aggressive.

If it was around Aug-Sept... when server was taken offline to cleanup some intruder mess,

incoming mail may or may not have bounced.

What Max means is, Tamiya made few Avante 2001 kits Japanese version with reinforced parts...I and max we have these rare version kits..:-)..

Here some pictures for the TC Members I've done today to display the differences between Avante re release and Avante 2001 drivers.

Keep in mind: Avante re release not vintage Avante driver. They are different because Tamiya modified the original Avante mould to obtain the Avante 2001 driver and the re-release Avante driver is always the same mould modified again so there are some differences between vintage and re-release Avante driver, minor difference obviously.

The major difference between Avante and Avante 2001 drivers are:

- No screw hole in Avante 2001

- 2 side mount plates on Avante 2001

- No pillars on Avante 2001

Differences between vintage and re-release Avante drivers

- Different pillars underside

- Some residual of Avante 2001 side plates on re re Avante Driver.

Its the same IM tool. The ribs you see underneath the Avante rere figure are the remainder of the reinforcement ribs from the 2K1 version. Still don't know how to attach my 2K1 rere figure on the original one. My thinking going in the direction to develop a bracket that is fixed to the driver using the existing hole which uses the original 2K1 driver attachement points.

Also an option. How i will attach the bracket is not my concern at the moment. Making the bracket is and the fact that in any case i will have to cut off the locator underneath..

I have put on the body on my Egress & it don't fit too well in the front .

You have to force it through the shock tower , i have trimmed it the way

it says , but i think it may nee more , can you try your TE & see how it goes .
