I've always loved the Lunchbox, and decided that I needed one for my collection. I forgot how much fun they are to drive. With all the different color choices, I was a bit stumped, but I finally decided on the black edition. It really looks mean and aggressive.

So here's my build pics.

And what motor for a black edition? Of course a black can! ;)

Gotta love a Lunchbox build! I'd strongly recommend an FX10 arm mod though to fix a whole load of issues inherent with the front suspension (unless of course you like the issues).

Thanks for the kind words and insight friends. Steve, the fx-10 mod looks very tempting. I'm on the fence about doing it though. Like you mentioned, I do like the inherent issues lol. I think that's what makes it nostalgic, and special. It'll never make a great race truck, so I may just keep it as is with the simple mods.

Looks pretty good! I like the hopup shocks. One thing I've been doing lately on my builds is painting those chrome coils all glossy black. I guarantee you that can make a pretty big difference in the looks department. ;)

Great build! I don't have a Lunchbox but I have got a Pumpkin and its great fun and practically indestructible!

Noticed the little VW/Audi bottle in the background on this pic, you work for a dealer?

Yes I do :)

I work for an Audi dealership here in the US.

And thank you mongoose and klausen for your kind words.

Klausen, I've tried to take a pic of the collection, but the camera isn't wide enough! Lol. I'll take a video one of these days and put it up on YouTube.

I got the alloy body mounts from eBay lentner3...and also, if you're curious about the fx10 mod, SteveU30 is the man to ask about it. I believe he has done it to his, and he either pioneered the mod, or improved on it drastically.

I definitely didn't pioneer the mod (it's quite an old mod) but I did put my own spin on it (there's loads of ways of fitting the FX10 arms as they're not really meant to fit). My thread is here and it has lots of useful info, links and images:

Its like I'm watching myself! I did the same thing, got an itch for the LB and went for the Black Edition. Then I added the strut brace, switched out the shocks for oil filled, added a 5th shock and recently switched to a Sport Tuned.

I used a stock Grasshopper shock for the 5th shock and Yeah Racing alloy dampers for the rest.
