Thanks

i just use clean rags or tissue to remove the old goo and us QTips to get between the gears. And thats good enough for me.

tooth brush is a good idea...learn something new

Hi Tamiya that's not a good thing to do you always need to remove the old grease 100% because new grease won't stick well to the parts unless you are using the same exact grease.

I do youse motor sptay but was looking for something less messy...guess there is no way around it it's just a messy job! :)

Found a awesome way to clean gears!!

things needed
1, tooth brush
2, rag
3, plastic container
4, laundry detergent

what I did was hold gears with a rag and with my toothbrush with only a little dab of laundry detergent on it I quickly wiped the gears removing the excess grease real quick on the gears, Next I put the gears in a container filled with laundry detergent and let them soak in it for a little while , Then I took them out gave them a quick brush with my tooth brush and next ran them under warm water brushing them with the tooth brush again and the gears looked like new almost!

5 simple steps.

1. Clean the worst off with a rag or brush.

2. Put them in an EMPTY dishwasher and let it run a full cycle. Dont be lazy and stick them in with last nights dishes.

3. Take them out, shake off any water and leave them somewhere warm to dry out.

4. Remove all traces of your efforts before the wife gets home!

5. DONT FORGET NUMBER 4!

Works like a charm :)
