OK I need some threaded bar for my DT02 shock tower brace and wasn't sure what size it needed to be. I'm guessing 3mm (M3 size). All The ball cups/rod ends I have are from various tamiya kits and all seem the same size some ally most plastic but in different lengths. Length isn't an issue as I will buy some longer rods and cut them to size. I want to also use it to make up custom turnbuckles tie rods, servo steering assemblys and other braces etc. and it just seems like a useful thing to have in my box. So I guess my question is what size do I need as a multi purpose or do I need several sizes? I could probably do with a few more of the brass ball joints too.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

3mm sounds like it'll be most useful to you, make sure it's steel though if you intend to bend it. I picked up some cheaper stuff from a local DIY store and it turn out to be aluminium. It's fine for straight sections but if you try to bend it, it'll weaken and snap easily.
