Just a quick update today, got my drivers and sport lamps primed today for both the Super Hornet and Super Hornet II :)

First off made myself a jig/stand for the spots out of a Benecol tub lid and 4 20mm screws ;)

The rest was stuck to my trusty piece of cardboard

Primed!

Will keep these in the spares box, you never know when you are going to need spot lamps

Also got a coat of paint on the driver

Today (and over the last few days) I have been mostly paintin

I found that though my patent 'Tamiya' body supports were indeed just the job when it came to grabbing the other body for it's turn I needed a better alternative for bunging in my vice. Luckily I had a stock of 'Tamiya' body support feet, or pieces of plywood hastily cut and screwed to the bottoms B)

Next up flatting back and adding another coat if necessary or polish and admire ready for decals ;)

Put my driver together today just need to add the decals but I wont do this until the body has been lacquered, I did want to get it done today along side SHII but i found I had run out of tack cloths :(

After I wipe the bodies over with panel wipe it creates a light static charge which or course makes dust stick to the bodies like iron filings to a magnet, without tack cloths it's was pointless me carrying on the clear it  Got this and SHII are slow at the moment...

T now does their Fine Surface Primer in pink too for when painting red.

I tried a can recently and it does work, even for flesh & orange. :)

Thanks for the info mate, I just wish Tamiya would produce a red that wasn't the consistency of Ribena!!!

Looks really good wood5tock, i wish i still had the patience to do them.

that's why i like the dyna storm so much no driver

Thanks buddy. I know what you mean sometimes it can make a project drag a bit in my case. Still my 'faithful to box art' on Restorations kicks in and won't let me off the hook

Spot lamps painted! When I painted the body for this and SHII I used up the can of Tamiya paint forgetting I still had these to do, gutted! Not wanting to waste an order on one tin of paint I decided to get some 'off the shelf' paint (don't have a Tamiya distributor that near by :( ) decided to try out Halfords enamel.

So far it's brilliant, gives a great finish, but I know its only on little areas. I also bought some lacquer in the same line which i shall use to clear the two bodies. Fingers cross it give the same great finish.
