Hi Guys

I am after a 'Rising Fighter' but where ever I go I am finding no stock as Tamiya have discontinued it :(:(:(:(

If you soy one let me know, or if any of the trader see this PM me. Ideally I would like to get one for the RRP £70-£80 :D and if I can get club discount even better

Well things may not be as final as I first thought. I have just spoken to one of the guys at Wonderland, who informs me that their Tamiya rep told him that the RF should be available again come Feb when the next big shipment comes in to the UK.

Apparently communications between the UK importers and the UK distributors have been a bit confused, not to mention the fact that as Wonderlands told me this particular kit has been one of their the best sellers.

So hopefully all will be well for Feb. If not I shall have to get my thinking cap back on :D

Thanks for all the help guys, PMs and lists :D Gonna check them all out

With regards to Tamico, is there a way of translating their site, or do i have to rely on very rusty school boy German

The DT02 is a bit too different from the Hornet platform to form the basis for a Super Duper Hornet. However the DT01 might be an option if the Rising Fighter proves elusive. I used one to make my interpretation of a Grasshopper III Super Duper G.

The plan was/is to get the RF kit which has the same tub as the SH/GH2, (this bit I know for sure as the replacement tub for my SH resto is actually an RF tub) then have the stronger gearbox of the RF. After that it would be a case of working out if I can either use the original rear shock top mounts (as they are still there) on the RF box or use the RF top mounts and mod the SH shell. Then oily dampers, cheeky motor and various other filthy hop-ups ;)

I have kinda decided that my Tamiya collection will follow the rough rule of original/vintage will be display/shelf queens and the re-res will be the runner versions. Then if there are know re-re versions then to use cunningness and build a new runner as close as possible or my own version of a next generation one type thing. As the SH was originally a low to medium budget kit then the modern equivalent is the RF.

For example I was going to use a vintage decal sheet and add dummy resistors to my Novafox, then I decided no it's a kit in it's own right and if I was that needy of a pure Fox (I am I am...) I should get a proper vintage Fox one day :D:wub:

It's all XVs fault as he got me thinking about the RF as effectivley a donor for a uber hornet :D

Hey XV do you have a link to your GHIII project? :)

Here you go, I think Tamico's standard postage cost is €13 so overall you are looking at €68.

Also if you use Google Chrome as your web browser it should ask you if you want the page translated. Another way is by using Google Translate ( translate.google.com ) and just paste the web address you want translated into the left-hand box and select the language you want into translated from and the language to translate it into.

True true, it's when you are about to hit the 'ORDER' button for a kit that had been coming out of suppliers ears just days before, only to find none left and apparently discontinued right there it's quite a shock :lol::lol:

Anyway as below all is not lost ;)

!UPDATE! Thanks for more suggestions and the translation help. An order has been placed with Tamico for an RF kit along with more SH bits 'n' bobs ;) I have been wantng to try out Tamico for a while now as they have an impressive range of stuff.
