Very nice Clod Chevy badged and nice MT collection.

We can easy see how the difference in the front grille changes the look of the body. New grille with 4x4x4 writing is ugly in my opinion in front of original one.

hello friend

if you are right the unique differences between the clod buster super clod buster and 2012 are the front grille, tailgate and engine air inlet in the reissue is bigger but tamiya included in the reissue the small air inlet vintage :)

see you friend ^_^:):)

Nice collection, always time for Clods. Got one myself waiting in the wings.

Agreed the 'Bow Tie' grille is the one ;)

It's impossible to filnd a used Clod at a decent price.

All used on the bay have prices higher than a NIB Super Clod.

Why???

¡El espécimen perfecto! That is one wonderful Clod Buster project to start with. Congratulations!!!

Tamiya doesn't make their RC kits in Japan anymore, and , as you know, stuff that's made in Japan most the times is more expensive than stuff made elsewhere in Asia. Of course, you can also count on the nostalgia factor. That alone moves billions of dollars from one place to another in matter of minutes. ;)

Anyway, here's a nice one. Not too expensive (yet):

Other than a perfect original I've never seen a used Clod make that sort of money. I guess it depends whether you want a runner, a resto project or a queen. Most runners/ projects make £60-90 in the UK. Postage is often a killer due to size/weight. My current project cost me £55 + postage. Sure it's a kaleidoscope of colours but 99% of the paint is now removed from it and it's a great base for a rebuild. The price of new tyres means people will pay £50 for any Clod just to get the wheels, then sell the rest off in parts.

I paid £80 for this one collected, one owner from new!

It just needed a handset and batteries to run.

I was going to sell it, but my eldest daughter really likes it so it is now another keeper.

In the long term it will get stripped and rebuilt and then painted or better still I really like the Marvel comic idea for this model.

I think 80£ is a decent price for a used Clod keeping in mind that a NIB Super Clod costs this today:

http://www.tamico.de/Tamiya-Super-Clod-Buster-2012-Bausatz-58518 + 13 € DHL fast delivery shipped.

And this is not the cheapest place to buy it.

I don't speak about original NIB Chevy Badged that can cost more than 600$.

I'm speaking about used models, often in non shelf queen conditions, without radiogears, used or painted in odd colors.

I can't post any ebay link (as per forum rules) but on the bay I've found these ones:

A blue Clod, no decals, no Chevy badged, 420$ + 80$ standard international shipping. ????

A light blues  Clod, vintage, Chevy badged, dirty, dusty, dented, no radio 500 $ + 107$ for shipping. ?????????

A red mixed Clod and Super Clod, no Chevy badged, no radio, no original decals, 350 $ + 296 $ for shipping. ???????

A purple Bullhead with mod motors, esc, radio gears, transmitter, battery and charger 650 $ + 73 $ for shipping. ???????

My collector idea is that if I need a runner I'll buy it used and not new. This choose is because I don't like to ruin a new model and I prefer use a used one but I think these prices are out of the world and probably will buy a nib Super Clod kit to have a runner.

Sorry if I hijacked the thread.

Some people will always try and have a laugh with used prices. £100 for a used original clod with good tyres and bodyshell seems a sensible price to me, with around £60 for one without and original shell or no shell.

Bear in mind you can get a second hand TXT-1 for around £150-£180, and that's a much more capable truck, and I think better value for money.

In fact, I think that a used item generally worth half price than new one.

So 260 euro for a nib means 130 euro for a used one. 130 euro = 100 pounds, circa.

I think you keep forgetting one of the factors. Think of it as a guitar. A vintage Japanese acoustic will always cost about the double of a new acoustic guitar made elsewhere in Asia. I believe that's the problem with the Clod Buster and the Super Clod Buster.

That's assuming the guitar hasn't been hammered through the flower borders and into a fence by an eager 10 year old.....

Condition of second hand clod busters can vary enormously, and the bodyshells are mega bucks to replace. Personally myself I don't think you can justify more than about £150 for a shelf queen vintage clodbuster. It's been built for a start, which devalues the kit quite considerably. The only time you can justify more than £240 for a vintage clod buster is if it's still in the box unbuilt. Even then I'd rather buy a new super clod as the tyres and all the other plastic will be fresh, and then put a vintage shell on it and some red bumpers. Just my 5 pence worth.
