Sand scorcher

Heya chaps,

Would any of you buy a NIB (tape damage to lid) scorcher for £1175?

I'm curious because there's one on Ebay...

That one (the one on auction now) looks real mint, except for the box cover.

Seen it and I can honestly say IF i had the money then i'd maybe go to £600 for it but £1175 not a chance!!

Somebody has just hit the BIN button and paid £1175 for it. Crazy or what!

The price equates to $1983. That's quite a sum of money. Crazy by some standards. Quite a bargain by others. If collecting maintains, 10 years from now your going to wish that you bought that $2000 scorcher when their selling for $8000.

It's all down to percieved value, if your wealthy and want a scorcher then hit that button. I personally wouldn't spend that much on an R/C car. But I would imagine that my collection of R/C cars and all the bits that go with them is worth much more than £2k.

It's quite strange how we view the value of things. I recently needed a headlamp and radiator for a car (full size) and looked around at the price of them new, both items brand new would have cost me £150 so I hit ebay and got good used items delivered for £25.

However, I have no problem shelling out £30 for an R/C battery pack (I wouldn't spend £30 on a 1:1 car battery)

Having said that, If I were to spend top-dollar on bits for my 1:1 cars (and buy new vehicles) I couldn't afford my R/C hobby. Just as well I'm happy driving 10 year old cars around

Why did this crop up tonight []

Normaly I'd have said '£1000+? NUTTER, FOOL, MAD MAN, BERK!' but now I know its all relative. Its not what its worth to us today, its what its worth to the nutter who hit the bin button today.

Guess which nutter bin'ed an nib black srb bumber tonight [xx(], THE ONE THING I SAID I'D NEVER DO!!!!!!! id="red">though I've no regrets whatsoever and I'm quite chuffed with my irresponsible behavior, as I'm sure the guy who bought the scorcher is.

I say good luck and well done to the guy, wish I had more cash than brain cells cause thats exactly how I'd spend it. []

It's also missing an inside box lid - the one that has the sand scorcher going thru a puddle. That's why on the picture you see the green blister pack all warped-up.
