Has anyone tried this? I was recommended this by my LHS as the tube of Tamiya grease you got with the Stadium Blitzer kit was tiny and just about finished the diff.

I have used it for the rest of the gear box but it seems much thicker and stickier than the Tamiya grease, it's sort of a green gloop .

I am slightly bothered its so sticky it will create drag, obviously Losi is a good make but I am worried I am missing something? I have used it on the outer of the diff, the other gear and the pinion.

As I have no idea what a hd ring is but know what a pinion is I am hoping I have done the right thing? (looks like a pig to clean off).

Sorry for the total novice question but I have googled and I cannot find much information on it.

Hi No do not use that grease I only used it in my diff gears ... that tube in the kit should be enough for your whole kit you only need to lightly put a little on the gears and work it in by rotating the parts by hand.

do not use that green grease on any of the gears other than inside gears in the diff it will make your car slower and make your motor run hotter because the gears wont spin freely.

The guy at your hobby shop is a idiot for telling you to use that HPI grease!

:( Is it really that bad? Its Losi not HPI but it does feel kind of sticky. Which Tamiy grease do I need to buy then as I will get some ordered and strip the box back down?

You can use the sticky stuff inside the diff on all the gears and areas that you need to put grease on it will work very good for this. But on the outside of the diff gear that runs on all the other gears you can use any thin RC grease .. the Tamiya ceramic grease works very good.

Could I use this stuff? seems much better value than the tamiya grease and I am guessing its similar?

I would only use a grease that say's it's plastic safe.

as for cleaning the gears I would use RC motor cleaner or dishwashing liquid soap full strength , clean as much grease as you can off with a rag and a tooth brush wiping as much grease as you can off then soak them in the soap and brush them clean with the toothbrush and rinse them off with warm water and let the parts dry.
