Hey guys I have a rere Bruiser that I converted to a Mounty. I run it often and the only thing I want to change is the stiff suspension. Is there a way to soften the suspension with out removing the springs which would effect its ride height? Anyone try softer shock oil? I know it is a rere but all of the 3speed knowledge is here.

Pic for clicks:

The only way you would be able to soften the suspension is by changing the leaf springs. Changing the oils won't help much at all. If you are feeling like a bit of metalworking you could always soften the springs through heat treatment.

Hope that helps.

Is that your own Mounty?

+1 to Mats reply . You need to change the leaf springs . The RC4WD ultra flex springs seem to be the optimum choice .

as above, I have the rc4wd ultra flex on my highlift they are good. but if you want to keep the cost down just run 1 Tamiya spring.

you could always put a lift block between the axle and spring if you are worried about ride height.

ps your mounty is the dogs testicles. :D they should of re-re'd the mounty

Yes that is my pride and joy of my rc collection. Thank you for the compliments. I posted a couple threads about it last year. It now sports the black bumpers, i finshed the interior, and added the TOYOTA windshield decal. I really need to post new pics.

It looks so good, extremely well finished. It makes me want to get my Mounty all painted up.
