Real Wild One . That's one very nice street Scorcher . This is going to be Pure Baja style . The idea is to create a low cost , easy to maintain beach runner that while having the scorcher ' look ' is a lot lighter and handles better . Read back through the thread and have a look at SRB Blokes and Jenny' s versions to get a idea of where I'm going with this . I guess you could call it a Budget Bug . Loads of things I want to do to customise it visually and the lights pod just seems like a good way to go .

lol Greg . Your actually correct . The body that's coming from Percymon with the Frog chassis is a lexan kamtec . The body I have bought from SRB Bloke is a ABS Kamtec . Sorry if I confused you .

I remember well SRB bloke making that scorcher. He is a true wizard when it comes to hand fabricating styrene to make a body shell just how he wants it and that was a sweet car when he finished it. Definitely not a basher though with all the work that went into it.

Apologies, didn't read the thread fully....I see its a Baja your more looking to.

That's ok Real Wild One . Its always good to see other peoples take on the Scorcher and that's how ideas are formed . Yours is excellent BTW .

I arrived home late this evening to find my purchase from Percymon had arrived - Cheers David :D. IF this is what you describe as a ' bit rough and ready ' I would love to see one of your full restoration builds . David , seriously this frog chassis is almost in mint condition . Very , very happy with it .

Cheers Mate .

Now I just need to find some time to get on with the build

No problem Arron - glad you are happy with it and good luck. If I forgot to put the hex drive spares in, let me know, and I'll drop them in the post

I'm working on a idea for the lights . I fancy using the pod from a Lancia 037 either bonnet or roof mounted . Can anyone measure one for me ? I need to know how wide it is across and how deep it is from front to back .

Cheers .

I've started on the body modifications this evening . Roof air scope is done and looks great :D - photos tomorrow . For anyone doing any styrene work I highly recommend EMA Plastic Weld . Even for a numpty like me  - it makes the job easy

EMA Weld is excellent stuff, put sections together , hold and run the fluid along the joint with a paintbrush. You can even leave small snippets of styrene in a small volume of ema to dissolve and make a paste/filler

I was a bit scared first time I used it David but as you say its excellent stuff . The only limit now on the modifications is my imagination . Well chuffed :D

Done bit more today . Rear windows filled as they had already being cut out . Actually I like it as it looks more realistic than them being flush. Rear end extended as that had also being cut but I wanted it to be lower to cover the Frog gearbox more . I've also added some detail to the wings to look like the wing to body piping rubbers .

Calling our American Members . I need some help guys . Are Killerbodys still in business ? I want to get hold of one of their Accent Light Kits - their part number # 48058 . They don't seem to have a European distributor . I have e- mailed the USA Distributor but have had no reply .

Can anyone help me track down this part ? If so would you be kind enough to purchase one for me and forward it if I cover the costs via paypal ?

Help please guys .

I am giving Aaron a hand with the part of getting some parts from an American distributor. I got this :) Weird that they don't sell products online, but look to have some cool products.

Well it looks as if I have lucked out . Despite Mikes best efforts and extensive enquires it seems that Killerbodyrc are actually not yet selling their products . Their site is very mis leading at say the least as they actually list all their USA outlets . It seems they have either pulled the plug on sales or are delaying for some reason .

Shame as the products looked excellent .

Hi bromvw,

killerbody is in the meantime distributed by Robitronic Austria, and they are a reliable sellers. They have lots of killerbody stuff. Didn´t find your light set, but others (Rallye). Maybe you can take a look under Robitronic.at in their webshop!

Nice project, I think we need some photos of the actual progress! ;)

Matthias

Hi Bromvw,

sorry for late reply, but I was racing my Tamiyas the whole weekend in competition!

I can drop them an email, but I don´t think they will have stock again before the mentioned 38 days. They are quite accurate there in Austria! At the moment it´s sold out. They are just building up the killerbodies stuff there, so I think they wanted to test first, how good things sell, before building up a bigger stock.

Let me know your decision and if you want to wait sooo long for some lights. I can for sure do some mailing / translation for you!

Good luck with the project,

Matthias
