JennyMo 3526 Posted January 3, 2017 Finally, with the paint dry, it was time to break out the re-re Sand Scorcher stickers (from eBay), and get to work... As you can see from the photos, I went with the alternative 537 number boards - primarily as the black background 506 numbers wouldn't fit between the wheel-arches on the shortened shell. Fortunately I had some [slightly smaller] 'Foward' yellow ovals from a Wild Willy 2 kit, plus a Jackman Wheels logo from a reproduction original Sand Scorcher graphics kit. The rest of the stickers are the re-re 2010 Scorcher ones, and the front STUMSCO numberplate made up from the Nevada DMV website. photo. Still rusty in all the right places ;o) photo. The original [VW wheelie bus] white wheels are back on - in homage to the Sand Scorcher... (the black wheels are now on the StumpKamper). I trust you agree this really is the way it always ought to have been... Happy New Year everyone! Jenny xx
mastino 1085 Posted January 3, 2017 oh boy, I really LOVE your STUMPscorcher. When I was young, in the 70s, I had one of these memories of youth...
Chilihook 51 Posted January 3, 2017 This was so much fun to read through! seeing your progress and experiments with the color combos was almost like see your process from the inside. While I really like the Gulf livery that had the stripes paint scheme, I think your right - the Sand Scorcher paint job fits it to a tee.
JennyMo 3526 Posted March 20, 2017 Just a few more photos of the STUMPScorcher in it's latest colours - the only mod is I've trimmed the front body posts... As with the STUMPkin, I am considering selling this model to help finance a future project... Built using all new Tamiya parts and only run a handful of times - it comes completely RTR with 2.4GHz radio gear - and I'm looking for £200 - for this, the original STUMPScorcher.
