Savox SC1257TG vs. Savox SC1258TG

Recommended Posts

I have difficulties understanding what the actualy differences are between the Savox SC1257TG and the SC1258TG. The specs seem almost identical so i can't figure out why one would have 2 so similar servos in their range. Anything i overlooked?

Well the 1258 is 20% more torque at 12Kg rather than 10Kg for the 1257. Speed wise they aren't too dissimilar, 0.08 vs 0.07.

in a 1:10 buggy theres no reason to need 12Kg but in a monster truck or big truggy then it might be worthwhile

Interestingly Savox dealers don't quote the voltage at which the 12Kg/0.08s is measured (some state 6V for the speed, 0.10 at 4.8V but no mention if voltage for the torque). Turnigy quote 12Kg/0.11s at 4.8V and 13.5Kg / 0.10s at 6.0V for their 1258TG

Thanks David. I know i do not need a 12kg Servo but when i can pick it up at an excellent price, why wouldn't i? Besides, Savox servos are keepers. The go from car to car..once bought no need to bother anymore for a long time :)
