1/10 light kit

Ayup,

I was wondering if anyone has an electrical schematic for 1/10 scale cars.

I want to fit 2 headlights, 2 rearlights and 4 spotlamps to my MB.

Any advice on the subject would be appreciated,

sounds like you might be interested in a juggernaut light kit, i think they run straight from the battery with an adapter, so no special wiring is needed, and maybe a brake light kit for the back, i am after on of those for my mammoth dump truck.

You can find some ready made kits for body lighting at http://www.rcneon.com/leds.htm, or try Maplin in the UK or Tandy in the US, they do various kits by Vellemen which could be used on a car.

It's a fairly simple circuit, all you need is some bright LEDs, a 9v battery and a resistor to cut down the amount of current. I'm not sure the precise values, will try to find out from my friend who is always messing around with electrical bits.

Another idea is to get a small set of LED christmas lights from Tesco or a similar store (about £5.99 at Tesco) and substitute the LEDs for high intensity ones - that would probably end up costing more though.

the tamiya light kits come up on e bay now and again, but sadly i aint sure who supplys them!

The tamiya light kit is really nice if you have a Juggernaut. Otherwise its a rip off for what you get. Your cheapest route would be an electronics store for mini lights

Red Led's are as 'cheap as chips' at around 18p each, however, high output white ones cost much more, although there was some 7000mcd white LED's on ebay and these are mega bright. So bright you can use them as headlights. I've got 4 of these on the front of my Isuzu Mu and 2 Blue 4000mcd lights. Great for tearing round the house playing 'cops & kittens' Although the cats don't rate it as much fun (But they seem fair game and always put up a good chase - LOL)

I'd like to run mine off a 9v battery, but i know naff all about resistors and stuff!
