Been looking at some weird and wonderful R/C's lately. And got me thinking of something that is big and fun that would be easilly seen by my 7 month old son when running. And came across this .......

I always loved watching the monster trucks years ago and Grave Digger was always my favorite. Now its seems like a good deal, £209 for a RTR Grave Digger on a RWD platform. Ok so some of the electronics would need to be upgraded over time, but looks like what I am after. Anyone had any experiences with this chassis?

It's a Traxxas.. that's kinda all ya need to know. They are pretty much indestructible, have a fair turn of speed and are built to bash. The platform the monster trucks are on is basically a Stampede which is a chassis that's been around forever so it's very tested.

They are waterproof and very tough, has a huge amount of up grades and hop ups, probably more than any other chassis type out there. I mean you can even turn them into a tank... and I mean literally ... Track Conversion ...

Thanks for the Video :) Looks like it can take some abuse and still keep going, which is great.

Gotta laugh at the part where he says "its only seems to break if you were to drive it flat out into something. Which seems a common fault with the front hub king pin design" ..... lol. I think most r/c cars would break hitting something flat out like a wall.

yuck! take a nice relaxing shower, meditate, find your center, then get a Axial or something. or better yet, follow up your madcap with a king cab and bash that!

Haha, I actually almost placed an order for saturday delivery today. But will order one in a few weeks time.

Sorry but Axial does nothing for me at all, almost as much hate for them as I do for the Egress :P ........ hmmm... Kingcab you say?? ;)

Jim just buy it mate . Much as I hate to say it on a Tamiya forum a Traxxas will take abuse better then most of the big T's products . Good choice for a basher with its waterproof electronics and ease of parts supply . I even think it looks good ;)

Just buy it - and tell us all about it when you have the time!

I like the way Traxxas did these models, even if I do not believe they ever had double-wishbone suspension ;)

Seems to be a trend with people's expectations of R/Cs recently. I've seen people describe cars as "fragile" because they broke after being barrel rolled into a curb at 60mph.

I cringe when kids buy Traxxas here, they come storming into my LHS throwing a tanty demanding their broken rc be fixed for free because it's rubbish or faulty, so muggins here replaces the servo under warranty because said kid stripped it driving flat tack off a flight of steps and cartwheeled it because he and his mates thought it was cool <_<

James have you considered getting the 1/16 version with included grave digger backpack? I was thinking of this for my 6 year old nephew before I got him a lunchbox :)

Yes I did look at the smaller 1/16 scale one but here in the UK its exactly the same price as the larger 1/10 scale one. Which seems a little crazy, lol.

Get a 1/10 summit that's what it's all about ! I have to say from owning an emaxx I am very happy with everything. Only thing was I blew my motors up but that just forced me to do an upgrade I wanted to do from day one.

That's another trend I've noticed too. I mean I'd probably have done the same type of stunt driving as kid, but when it broke, my first thought would have been "guess I pushed it too far" rather than "this is rubbish!".

Dipped my toe in at another forum so I could discuss one of my non-tamiya cars and saw the "curb+barrel+roll+this car is so fragile!" complaints. A good rule of thumb is if you're breaking body-posts sliding to a stop upside down, you're driving at either the ragged edge of the car's capability, or yours.

Is simple, tell that individual to run into a telephone pole at 20mph and see what happens to him. His body is even more fragile once the ER stitches him up and reset his limps.
