Here's my Ramblin Ron from back in the 80's. I painted him when I was like 11 or 12 years old. He's looking pretty good for spending his free time sliding around in the bottom of my tackle box!  -lol

I'll buy him a new Blackfoot to pilot after I get done with my wheelie collection.

I always think no matter how good "ramblin Ron" is painted he always looks like Michael Myers out of the Halloween movie!

I thought I might revive this thread with the latest addition to my Willy family...

When I saw the theme of this year's summer competition - Motion - I admit this was the first thing that came to mind I'm afraid...

i-GtX52r5-XL.jpg

Yes, it's a rather obvious joke I know - but actually it made good use of some otherwise redundant spare parts (in this case, actual body parts!) I had in my stash...

The feet/legs are from a Jack Osbourne figure - I'd already used his torso as the driver of OK TC the Defender 90, paired with some Wild Willy 2 legs which fitted really well in the footwells and seat of the Defender interior...

The upper body is actually the second ever Wild Willy figure I'd painted (Dirty Willy in my showroom), who has been a driver in a succession of vehicles including the Stumpkin and the Fro-Sco at some point, and most recently as a test-pilot in Desmond (the 2.2 crawler) without his boots - hence why I thought I might be able to mate these two parts together successfully.

I cut the Jack Osborne trousers down so they looked more as if they were around his ankles, then used filler and sanded them with a Dremel to create a recess into which the sculpted legs would attach.

I then sanded and sculpted the original plastic overalls of the Wild Willy figure smooth into legs, cut and repositioned them slightly, and also used more filler around the back of the knees, before attaching them to the dropped trousers with superglue and then Araldite.

His right arm was already raised (and the hand re-shaped to hold the roll-cage in Desmond), so that was perfect to hold the toilet roll aloft - which I made front scratch using a thin piece of cardboard (formed by rolling it around an alloy tube and sticking together with tape) and strips of real toilet paper rolled around.

His left arm was modified so that his hand was more in his lap - to protect his modesty for photography - and I'm still debating whether he should be holding a magazine or these days an iPhone perhaps!

The receptacle for his 'motion' is a scale fire bucket which I customised with Letraset - Sh!tterton being the name of a real village in Dorset in the UK.

You might also notice I modified the ProGear sticker on his helmet... oh how we laughed!

Anyway, I don't expect to win the competition with such crass comedy, but at the same time, I hope it gave you all a chuckle!

Toot toot (poop poop!)

Here be my willy looking like he sat on something unfamiliar but he's taking it in his stride and carrying on.

Ha ha - yes, I recall I suggested something similar at the time...

edit. I just trawled back to the original build thread in 2013, and sure enough:

Glad you appreciated it ;o)

This is my Willy figure (1st one) it's "Boomer". Painted as a nod to my Boomerang original colours before a new body and some changes to the car

Cut, chopped and filled to fit in my Boomerang drive shaft and battery wires run under his armpit lol.
