Brought a pandora nissan skyline r33 gtr shell today for my son and the front and rear bumpers need to be attached to the main shell. Now there really ain't a lot of room for marrying the pair. What is the best way of doing this as I ain't got a clue seeing I have never had a shell in which this has had to be done before.

glue?

if so shoe goo, you can get it in clear. it doesn't really set always stay slightly flexible.

or there is good old sikaflex, its a PU sealant and bonds lexan really well.

Tamiya and HPI supply some really thin double sided tape for attaching LED buckets and front/rear polycarbonate bumpers. It's almost a double-sided clear Scotch tape, not a thicker foam servo tape. You can probably find some at craft shops or even at a home improvement store.

PolyUrethanes... probably need 72hrs (I read that as "1 week")

the PU sealant we use in the work sets in 4 hours. we use it to make aluminium and nil-flam panels to go into curtain walling frames. once its set if there is a problem with the panel for example wrong size its scrap as there is no getting them apart. but it is messy and if you get it on your hands then the only thing that looks at is standard thinners.

At my work they use a sikaflex sealant also its black in colour but don't know if its okay o polycarb tbh.

Know I presume this sealant method has been done after painting . And if so does it affect the paint in any way

if its free from your work then yes it will do

I would paint it first, we use it both on items that have been spray painted and powder coated so long as the paint has cured it should be fine.

you guys do realise that "Sikaflex" is like "Selleys", they're big brands that make

dozens of specialised industrial adhesives available for caulkgun or sausage...

Different properties to suit each application.

Free is always good :)

Most PU sealant I have used and its been alot. 14 years making windows does work the same way, I know there are loads of variations but in my experience if it says PU sealant on the label then it should do the job.

we can go through 100 tubes a week so now we buy plain white tubes all the label says is pu sealant, its a third of the price of sikaflex but does the same job.

Funny u should say u work in the window industry as I used to work for eurocell and they sold soudal sealants.

I could take the shell to my work and seal it together but if the director comes over witch he does a lot it would be like the worlds about to end so I ain't even going there tbh I ain't worth the hassel esp for what I,d use . So I need to find the answer
