... Interestingly enough, I seem to do just that with my Avante. I am sure you would call that "one of your posh carbon buggies."

Yes, and at risk of derailing the best thread ever, what's the attraction of these? I'm only just starting in buggies and I've no feel for what's good and bad yet

Should we implement a "Bullhead Appreciation Thread," or resurrect one? There seem to be enough fans.

No! I want one bad enough as it is!

The one I just couldn't like was the Super Champ always felt that body didn't fit quite, right a bit too high.

That said always loved the rest of the SRB's.

I'm just the opposite, I think that's the best body out of the bunch

You be sure to sign me in, Grastens! ;):)

I would love to; alas, I am not the man for the job as I have never owned a Bullhead! But now that demand exists, perhaps an enterprising member can pick up on this idea and institute such a thread.

I will make it quick when I state that technological complexity and the look of carbon fibre are the primary attractions (there are more) for buggies such as the Avante, while outright performance and unique aesthetics must be the appeal for modern buggies such as the TRF502X. Well-controlled jumping abilities of the best buggies may also factor in.

However, the TRF502X is one kit I am on the fence for. It should be noted that I have zero experience with actually raceworthy vehicles, so we may wait and see if I ever change my mind!

Oddly enough even though I currently own a Lunchbox and Pumpkin. I find something about the pumpkin to just be not quite right proportion wise with the chassis? But it fits the lunchbox just right. I never will want a wild willy or any of the short wheelbase wheelie types. I think the LB/MP chassis has enough wheelie in it.

Those wantanabe? grasshoppers scare me. Cows? purple? good parts to convert a LB to a purple chassis but that's about it.

Love the clod but hate the bullhead due to it's odd body proportions with the chassis.

I only like the original body styled Blackfoots.

Can't get into any of the buggies besides the frog or hornet. I don't like the buggies that get too spaceship looking.

But since I'm newish to the hobby I can't comment on a lot of them.

Well here goes, Buggies like the Striker, Sonic Fighter, plain silly and lazy coin dredging from Tamiya. Pretty much all Monster trucks/Crawlers, I've got a lovely Beetle, but only as i got her for a song way back. Any of the Super Sabre, Thundershot/Dragon buggies, again, lazy and ugly all day.

You know that the super sabre is the same as the boomerang right ! & Is not the thundershot chassis etc line ?.

I HATE THE STRICKER / SONIC FIGHTER hands down , with the holiday & sand rover buggy 2nd .

Anything slow didn't appeal,so didn't care for the clod etc.

My first car was a frog in the mid 80's,and you would think that it would be my favourite, but no,hated it! (although I still like the look)

The gearbox splines broke weekly, bounced about and didn't handle.

Gave it away (!) and purchased a brand new fresh kyosho Ultima.

I think most have positives, I never liked 3 speeds, and it should be considered a crime to recommend a Hopper / hornet to anyone wanting to get into the hobby nowadays.

Oh and those old rally cars on the frog chassis were grim!

My quirky favourites are the RC boys cars.. Just love them

ORV chassis. Can't stand the design. Why Tamiya ever designed the front suspension like that is beyond comprehension. Frog just looks silly on it. Subaru Brat would have been better off on an SRB chassis or an actual 4 wheel drive chassis. The 037 Lancia Rallye on ORV!!!! Even worse

Next, don't like the Blitzer and Monster Beetle kits. It's an insult to the VW body to be on those chassis. It belongs on the SRB.

Also Hotshot tried to like it, but again it looks weird. And for that matter, any kit that has a mono shock. Could never understand why they wasted money on such an idiotic design.

Last Avante! The designer at Tamiya was smoking crack when he thought it was going to be the answer to the Kyosho Optima and with such a competitive price tag lol.

I will say I like the Egress, it's an improvement and looks decent. I almost bought one, glad I didn't, because I plan on ponying up for a re-re Optima.. When the day arrives

I hated buggy champ. it looked so ugly, no styling, it is just a box...

I used don't like lunchbox chassis because I am a racer by heart, but now I love it after I modded it with double wishbone.
