Time for the lunchtime wheelie race! (Afternoon tea wheelie race?)

20140727_165536_zpsv3cenhsb.jpg

Such is the popularity of the class, that there was not enough room on the drivers' stand, so some had to drive from the embankment!

Racing was frantic, and the marshals were kept very busy!

Sorry the live updates stopped - phone battery died.

The rest of the race meet went off smoothly, and I am confident that the vast majority of attendees thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

My cars continued to run very well, with no breakages. I would like to think that was because of my expert driving, but I have a feeling it might be more to do with the fact that my cars were both running 27t brushed motors and NiMH batteries, and the smooth, flowing lines of the track were designed with faster vehicles in mind. I found that I could drive the whole track at full throttle with my Manta, and there were only one or two spots where I needed to lift off with my DT01.

The 2WD and 4WD Races of Champions were great to watch, with some very impressive driving from the masters of their art.

And when the time came for prizegiving, I was delighted to find that I had managed first place in the '94-'98 2WD amateur section! Turns out slow and steady does win after all!

Thanks to the organisers for a great day's racing. If there is another one of these next year, count us in!

Lost for words at the minute and a ton of stuff to sort out.

The Revival was a massive success. An epic day and, due to the generosity of attendees on the day, we raised a huge amount for Breast Cancer Care.

Great posts of the day's progress XV Pilot.

More info soon.

My money is on Jamie Booth winning this one :)

Not on this occassion, the Wheelie Race didn't seem to agree with him. But he whooped everyone at the 4WD (of course)!!

I went to the "Iconic RC & A1 Racing: Revival Meeting" just off the A1 at Grantham.

It was the first time I had been to a meeting like this and even though I wasn't racing anything I had a fantastic time. I met some really friendly Tamiya RC Nuts , took lots of photos which I will try and post at a later date and the weather was hot and sunny - perfect (even though I now look like a rabid strawberry! did anyone notice that strange glow over Lincolnshire last night?)

I think a huge thank you should go to John Weston and the IconicRC team, the guys from the A1 circuit and everyone involved in organising and helping at the event :D.

May there be many more.

Martin.

(I have a load of photos taken at this event to download can anyone give me some advice of how to do it please. Thanks)

Looking forward to seeing your pics!

I would suggest uploading them to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket, then posting the image links to the forum. That is how I get pictures in my forum posts, quick, free and easy.

I use TCPhotos.com to host forum photos here.

If you want to upload a whole batch and you're on facebook then the IconicRC Group is perfect as there are already loads of photos and videos appearing on there.

Cheers, J

I do hope that said photos and videos make their way across onto here too. I am sure I am not the only one with a profound dislike of Facebook!

Some footage of the beastie Rich (Topcat) took along. It begins with day before test footage and moves into some footage from the Monster Truck race :)

Bullhead on the loose:

Iconic is facebook based nowadays since we stripped out the membership from the main site.

I'm afraid all the activity is on there and approx 95% of all the Revival Entrants are on the Iconic Group. I'm still wading through all the photos but I can only put a sample onto here. Videos will be on Youtube and I'll post the links on here. Lots of other entrants are putting some great videos and photos onto facebook. You really won't see many photos on the TC Forum or Showroom I'm afraid.
