DOH! Forgot you had already written this in OP.

Looking at the kit it has all the good points double action etc and the fact it comes with all the other bits as well is good. You really do need to get it in your hands though and inspect the quality first before you spend your wedge as the price is around the same as an air brush from a specialist airbrush manufacture such as DeVilbiss, Sata etc.

Whilst we all love Snap On goodness some of their lines are made third party and although carry the Snap On name aren't as good as a 'proper' airbrush manufacturer. On the other hand I have bought mini spray guns through my old Snap On rep that were made by a company called Wacom IIRC and they have been awesome.

Get you hands on his airbrush and actually try it out with paint, adjust it, try all paint techniques from fine to wide open also se how good it is at doing fine repeated dots, the sort of technique you would use to add a highlight to see how much control you can get.

Then see how easy it is to clean out and not contaminate with the next colour. When I was first airbrushing I had an airbrush which was great apart from the fact it was a point to clean properly and paint would catch in the bottom of the reserevoir in the body

Another name to have a look at it Iwata they do great airbrushed too ;)

You make an exellent point there. But tbh I have never used and airbrush before I have always used the good old rattle can. I brought the airbrush set from lidl a few weeks back it comes with a single action gun. Know I did intend to use that but I want to start as I mean to go on so am gona get another gun get a good one and start with and get used that

Cool, then have a play with his first. You may find in the future want to invest in a small spray gun for doing bigger jobs. For example if you were painting a lexan shell thats mostly one colour using an airbrush will get a little tiresome. More importantly I wouldn't use a detail airbrush (like the Snap On one) for painting a hard body as you will not get a great finish because you can't keep the coat of paint wet as you go because of the volume of paint produced. That type of airbrush is great for doing the detailed stuff in those one-off designs ;)

Right ok so what kind of airbrush would u say for the whole shells as I do have a project for a lunchbox shell very soon and with what I have planned for it I want it to turn out the best it can
