Theibault (or anyone building a Scorpion right now),

Do you know the lengths of the front turnbuckle rods and steering rods?

I want to use some titanium turnbuckles instead of the stock black steel rods.

Thanks and happy 4th!

They provide thread lock, but only specify to use it on two screws. Like I said, we'll see. I'll go back and thread lock as needed. As a kit goes, it's very simple and everything is in easy reach for wrenching.

Received mine today and completed the build. Having an issue with the rear suspension arms binding. Compared to my original and it seems to me that the dog bones are a little too long.

Manual has a warning showing the dog bone should be more towards axle. Tried that, no success.

Only solution seems to be to reduce the angle the arms mounts.

Any suggestions?

I had that issue till I mounted up the shocks. With them off, I had binding and mounted it was smooth. Not sure what to tell you as it's a strange thing lol.

I really don't know. It was baffling during my build. It was so notchy and then just smooth with the shocks mounted. Without the shocks is like there were two positions with a really noticeable click between them.

Kyosho did a stellar job on the tranny, but I have to say, the shocks are a bit of a let down. They're not quite as bad as the re-re SRB, but close.

There's a thin nylon seal that goes on the beveled end cap.. Really hard to put on. Then there is the challenge of bleeding the dampers. It's either hydra lock, air lock or not enough oil lol.

Here are some picts. I recently scored a LeMans 240 motor.. Same exact motor I had in my original yellow tub cox scorpion.

The story behind how I acquired the motor led to my being grounded by my parents. I saw the motor in towerhobbies catalog and kept bugging my father to order it. He kept ignoring me. So I called Tower and ordered it using his credit card and then went to him and said, here is the money. I'm sure you all can imagine his reaction ;)

I'm a little undecided about what colour to paint the body. I always felt the all yellow was very dull. My original was red and yellow, which matches ok. Black will make it look like a bee. I'm settling on PS-30 brilliant blue.. What do you guys think?

For the ESC I put in a TEU-104BK that came with FAV. I plan on buying a the TBLE-02S, since it allows you to go back and forth between brushed and brushless motors without changing out the ESC

Wow that looks too cool, can't wait for mine to get here.

Are the shocks 10mm?

Not sure. Will have to check for you.

Nice work. Which yellow did you choose?

I test ran mine outside.. The rear tyres are super grippy and the fronts skate on tight steering angles

Yes. Tamiya yellow is a very bright and light yellow. The plastic in the scorpion kit almost border on an orange tinge. The red just adds the right tint to the yellow.
