I'm sorry, I'm not following the discussion, didn't the model has yet not re released.

Anyway I'm interested in the plastic front wheels only. Either the tires don't interest me. Just only the wheels. I need them for a baja project.

I had a Scorpion in the past but never liked it and I swapped it for a portions of beans.

The only Kyosho I would buy is the Maxxum FF.

Beans? Lol.. Fagioli Borlotti?

Here are some pics of the Scorpion at RCX.

New tires are in soft modern rubber. With preprinted (tampo) Goodyear text on the sidewall. Nice!

Really nice detail on the new hardware. Flush :)

Also the new fronts seem to have the rim detailed on the inside and chromed - very nice.

Rear wing is hard plastic, another nice update.

Wow, the printed white-letter tires are a nice touch. Has anybody else ever offered that, besides AJ's and Bolink foam tires?

I spoke to a guy from Kyosho and he said option parts are ready and will ship soon after release if the car. He also said demand had been surprisingly high and first shipment is sold out already.

I take it the list is not there then? We all want to know exactly what is on that loooong list. :P

Why on earth they would be surprised is a mystery to me. Wake up and smell the coffee Mr Kyosho, people have been waiting for you to do this for years!

Here's the updated driver. Hop up shocks will be from the current racing series of kyosho buggies with spacers to fit. Other parts include carbon plates to replace many if the metal sheet parts.

Yes, beans (fagioli). It's an italian way of saying when you sell or buy something for few money.

Post Scriptum: Borlotti are just only a kind of beans, not the beans. ;-)

Jeje lo so a me piacciono i borlotti ;)

My first RC was the Brat, loved the body, hated the chassis... Those stupid hex axles would fly off after every jump. Then there was the stupid front suspension design.

My second RC was the Scorpion. It was a much better design than the ORV chassis.. However It broke very often.. Much more fragile than the ORV. So it was a bittersweet relationship back then.

Now that I'm older and more pragmatic, it's pure sweet memories.. As fragile as the car was, 80% of the breakage was because of my radio glitching and the other 20% was me being a kid and not knowing that over tightening parts leads to stripping and damage.

What would it take to convert this to a Tomahawk? Body and what else?

Best bet would be to find the manuals online for the Scorpion and Tomahawk and compare them.

Most parts can be found on ebay.

1. roll bar sc-69

2. Graphite Radio tray - Pargu

3. Radio tray posts: 4 Sc-76

4. Servo tray - Pargu

5. Front body post - hard to find

6. Rear body clip: impossible to find original, SRB one works

7. Tomahawk body + driver figure, TeamBlueGrove

I have pre-ordered a couple of these with RC Champ. They say they were informed at Shizuoka that the kit will be given a "spot" production run, whereby the kit is churned out within a specific window over the year. So I guess this means that it will be limited, but in production time rather than numbers. They don't say how long this window will be open but my feeling is that they will keep making them until the demand starts to drop.

RC Champ's price is 18468JPY so hopefully it will cost a little under £300 for two of them delivered to the door.

Hopefully that means no matter where you order from, you'll be assured to receive a kit. Unlike what I think happened with some orders at A-Main Hobbies for the RC10 Gold Tub re-re (Some people never got their kits because A-Main was never sent enough to cover all orders).

The only thing that I wonder about is the comment, made to Toykid by the Kyosho representative at RCX, that the "first batch" was already sold out. Does this mean that this first batch refers to the Spot Production run and also that they already know exactly how many kits can be made within this run......therefore also knowing that all of them have been pre-allocated to the various distributors?

If so, then I guess this is actually good news as it means they are planning on doing more than one Spot run, and thus kits will be widely available again once the initial frenzy has died down. This should mean a healthy supply of spare parts too.
