Tamiya's re re Bruiser has scale over all the current stuff out there, but the current stuff has performance and price over scale.....D90 package from RC4WD have very nice scale and a price advantage.

I disagree with you assessment of the Bruiser. The bruisers tires are way out of proportion to the size of the body. This is why I've always favored the Hilux over it. Plus it's overpriced

The TF2 and D90 are far better runners with better scale looks and a price that's $220 cheaper

Just because the wheels and tires are too big from your prespective, the brusier is no longer scaled? A simple change of tires and wheels that are now available in the market, the brusier will be very scaled. Sure the Hilux and Blazer are more scaled because of the tire size but the Mounty and Bruiser with their over sized shoes make them cooler more mocho or sexy if you like.

Another photo of the new Mounty, taken at Shizuoka. Still unclear which shade of red it has been painted in.

All these models seem to photograph much differently than expected, like the Hotshot Metallic Special!

Regardless of colour, it is a handsome brute...

Can't wait to get one of these and plastic chrome the bumpers and side rails!

Wish Tamiya made the optional chrome bumpers instead of the black bumpers which can be easily done but chrome is difficult and tend to smear from warm hands

Whatever color it is, I don't like it. Too orange.

Doesn't mattter what color Tamiya used, one can always select their own color. The model shown in the photo could be the same red color used in the original. The color could change because of lighting condition, the camera and lens used and the Mon you are using to view the photo.

Like the re re Brusier, I like it that Tamiya now gives you plastic window wiper blades vs decals and signal lights up front.

Maybe now I can just order the outside side mirror. :D

The red of the Tamiya sign is also more orange in the above picture, so just wait and see.

Yep the wipers and mirror are nice extra's :)

Mmfff...rrggg...must...resist... I'm already looking at scruffy vintage Bruisers on ebay... I have a feeling i'll be joining the three-speed club before the year is out. My wife is gonna kill me... "You spent HOW MUCH on one of those things?"

I do think that it will just be the lighting that is making the Mica Red look different. Here is a snapshot from the Shizuoka Fair video on Tamiyablog....

And when comparing it to the original promo shot....there is a distinct similarity in the colour shade.

What? Unbelieveable! There is absolutely no indication anywhere whatsoever that you would be interested in a Mountaineer! None I say!

My Avatar photo give it away :o ?

When does this hit the shelves ?

I have another photo from the show it look more proper red than the orange red we seen here. so i i guess its the camera have effect on the hue. I can't get the picture to up load here.

Can't wait to get one...

Have the Bruiser with two full body-sets, all painted and build.

Just need the Mounty-Decals, great excuse for buying a new kit :D

I haven't bought a rere bruiser simply because I feel they are way overpriced. Tower has them listed at $759, that's criminal. For that price you can buy a pretty nice original

I have to admit I'm sort of on your wavelength with this one. I have a rere Bruiser NIB, and the cost of this limited kit is going to be higher than the Bruiser - do I really need another or rere vintage 3 speed, or should I save £500+ and just buy another body , roll bar and (maybe) some decals to have the mounty option ?

For me part of the interest in this kit is the limited release element

Nice, wish I have a spare full body set or two for future projects but they are so expensive about $200 complete

Eh? Where have you heard that Dave? If anything, it is surely going to be significantly cheaper than the price we paid for our Bruiser as that kit has come down in price significantly since then. No way can the Mounty possibly be priced higher than the current Bruiser price.

Tamiya USA's msrp for the Mounty is 12% lower than that of the Bruiser.
