Hi, as title says, can anyone identify this poor thing, got it in a lot on feebay, it says ''brilliant electronics'' underneath the front bumper and also the gear cover, and there is what looks like a model number BCM-062r underneath the battery holder. Despite a lot of searching on the web I have found nothing about this very old RC (70s???)

Yes I know this is not Tamiya, just wasnt sure where to post this. I bought the lot because there was a vintage Hotshot in there. Thanks for checking it out!!

Are there any other cues that distinguish it from a homebuilt special? Although a covered gearcase would seem to rule this possibility out...

There were several companies making similar looking chassis BITD

I'm no expert but it does have some similarities to a Nicchimo I have.

It looks Tamiya'ish, Tamiya type battery connector, gearbox almost looks like it's wild willy.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll post some more pics tomorrow, maybe that will give you more clues.

Mongoose, I don't think that esc ever had a cover so I guess that makes it naked lol. I will try to hook it up and see if it works. I don't see any damage on it besides the cut receiver wire.

Grastens, I don't think this is homebuilt but I know nothing about these, I wasnt even born when it came out! Ill take better pics of that gear cover

Just for those of you curious out there, figured out the car is a very vintage LaTrax Brilliant LTX-40 Corvette. Apparently LaTrax was founded by the same guy who founded Traxxas! LaTrax was sold off in 1980, then was closed down in 1982. Then Traxxas was born in 1986 I believe. Cool piece of history, if anyone has parts for this I am now very tempted to restore it, just PM

Excellent! The LaTrax name is also getting used again as a more 'entry-level' branch of Traxxas, putting it on their LaTrax Rally model.
