Does the VW Beetle M06 body fit the M02L chassis?

The title sums it up. I have an old M02L Beetle, but I would like to get a new body shell for it. Does the body from the M06 kit fit the M02L chassis?

Yes, all the M-chassis body shells are backward compatible. Every time they come up with a new chassis design, they "re-release" each body on the latest and greatest chassis.
