I have been searching but unable to come up with a master list of all bearings needed to convert my M38 over to full bearings. Im looknig to try and get a list of all bushings and sizes to get it road worthy. Besides the 4 22x8 bearings in the wheels, what else have people replaced? ie. trans and axle bushings.

Thanks,

Drew

I recall needing several 850 and 730 ball bearings - a little sketchy on the 730s (could have been 630s, going into the smaller gears), but definitely the 850s. 1150s were also needed for the gearbox.

Once I dig up my bearing list, I will edit this post.

Edit - I found an image of the original bearing list I compiled while figuring out how to obtain ball bearings for my Audi Quattro, which uses a virtually-identical gearbox:

As you may be able to see, I found it required 4 1150 bearings (only 3 listed here, for whatever reason), 2 730 bearings, and 4 850 bearings with flanges. I am unsure what the "Flange: 10 x 1" means near the bottom of the list realize that "Flange 10 x 1" refers to the dimensions of the flange itself on each bearing, but these are the bearings required to complete the gearbox and rear axles. Note that one 1150 bearing and one flanged bearing are used for the rear axle, leaving 3 1150s, 2 730s, and 3 flanged 850s (the best I could find - use flanged 1150s where you can) for the gearbox alone.

I remember when I did this that I was thinking my list would be of use to someone else! I hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. I was measuring evryone I could find and this is what I came up with:

qty4- 8x22x7

qty4- 5x11x4

qty2- 3x7x3

qty4- 5x8x2.5 flanged(technically the old bushings measure 5x8x4, but those are not available).

Can anyone confirm these before I order them up? There only a buck a piece on avidrc.com So Im not to worried about cost.

Thanks

As above, I can confirm the 5x11x4, 3x7x3, and 5x8x2.5 - I believe I used the 5x8x2.5 in lieu of the 5x8x4 as well. A measurement clocked in the large 'skateboard' wheel bearings (so I heard) at 8x22x7, so order up!
