painting white plastic shells

Is it acrylic paint I need to use? Cheers

1. Wash bodyshell with a brush to get rid of any molding release residue.

2. Apply primer. E.g. Tamiya "Fine white primer" in spray cans.

3. For painting, use Tamiya TS spray paints and X/XF brush paints, or similar acrylic paints. PS paints are specifically for lexan bodies.

I'm giving it a go today on a SS shell, haven't painted a shell in years.

Going to try the Krylon Fusion paint.

Well that didn't take long, 1st mistake was using a wax and oil remover, used it on metal, not made for plastic, went to rub the body down and it started melting the plastic

Used it on a small spot that I was able to sand down after it dried. Ended up painting 2 bodies, will put them in my showroom later tonight.

I've used 2pk auto paints, comes out excellent using touch up gun and 2pk thinners not GP.

Ok so once I paint shell do I laqure it?

You could to give it a more shiny finish, but you don't have to if you don't feel like it.
