Finished painting a Scorcher re re body, didn't realize how tight the nose cone fits.

Any trick to mounting it without scratching the paint?

Had one tip from a buddy who said to spread the fenders and gently install from the bottom.

Care to share your experiences, good or bad?

The advice given by your friend and Gruntfuggly is correct. I'm just wandering if you prepared the body parts with some fine sand paper first?

Thing is the quality of the new bodies isn't the same as back in the day when they were made in Japan. There are lots of molding flashes and such to sand off of the borders to make these white hard bodies nice like the original ones. Now that I think of it, it seems to me that Tamiya is not taking seriously their reputation anymore.

Did not really do much as far as body prep, cleaned it and painted it, going to be a runner so didn't put too much time into it.

Less bumming when it gets trashed
