Da Lunch box....motor.......?

Hi Guy's I recently ripped my lunch boxes duratrax 20 turn motor out and put it in my sand scorcher ...Now here's the deal I have ordered another duratrax 20 turn motor and it should be here Friday ....BUT I have a nice 15 Turn motor sitting in the parts bin and I am thinking drop that bad boy in the BOX but I am wondering if it will over heat with the boxes gearing? and will it be insanely fast and I will destroy my beloved lunchie!

Wondering if I should do it or just put the 20 turn back in?

Any input would be great as always

Go on ! give it a go .

It will be fast , but it won't kill the gears .

Some have 6.5 brushless in theres , so try it .

But don't go nuts on the 1st go , just ease it & see

as you can roll etc .

I had a 12T equiv brushless in my lunchie, and felt it was too much (even with oil shocks and foam tyre inserts). Couldn't drive it without regularly rolling/crashing/backflipping. I now run a Sport Tuned in it with all of the important mods (fifth shock, double wishbones, front bracing) and I think it's just the right balance of fun and speed.

The Lunchbox/Grasshopper diff gears are massive and out of this world. No need to worry about them.

Keep your eye out on motor temps and the brass pinion, there's no steel replacement available as far as I know.

Sounds like I may be better off putting in the good old duratrax 20 turn because my lunch box has a 5th shock mod and my rubber hose friction shock mods on all four stock shocks but I think it may be over kill with a 15 turn.... may just drop it in real fast and give it a go anyhow.

I started with a standard can, then changed for a sport tuned but now I want Lunchy to go faster... VLB is all about fun, go 15 or even lower. I'm thinking of an 11 right now

Only put a 20 turn in it it's much faster than stock for sure but not speeding fast as if I would have dropped the 15 turn in it!

Probably would be a blast but you say your going 11 turn that would be SICK!

Well I am sure glad I put the duratrax photon 20 turn motor in as I tested it out in the street today and on 2S this is a perfect set up real fast for a lunchie a 15 would have been insane!
also I have a pumpkin and I balanced it's tires and I was running that one in the street a few days ago and it ran so much smoother and I realized I balanced the pumpkins tires with clay on the rear side of the wheels..BOY what a difference the unbalanced tires on lunch box made it wobble and hop not smooth and silky like the pumkin with it's balanced tires...so I will be balancing the lunch box tires for sure!!

If you don't have yours balanced do it you will be in for a TREAT!!

WOW!! Just got done balancing the box's tires man those where off so bad I had to use the clay and add big chunks of fishing weights ...I think I never felt tires and wheels off so much ...they are not 100% perfectly balanced but on the truck when I give it gas now off the ground it feels very smooth... can't wait to give here another test run probably will run much smoother now!
