Hi, just want to buy a TA-02 chassis and don't know the real value of it.

The chassis is used obviously and has Tamiya's aluminum gold dampers, colored springs, front blue alloy knuckes, front universal joints, FRP chassis, rear anti roll bar, turnbuckles all around and steel propeller shaft.

Probably the gears are aluminum/plastic ones and probably the car is full ball beared.

The car comes with an Alfa Romeo 155 body from Carson, not original Tamiya, and the whells tires seems non used a lot.

Considering I'll buy it more for the optional than the chassis itself.

What could it be the right price for this car?

Many thanks

hi Max,

its the obvious answer but, its worth what you are willing to pay , i think i can see some notching of the rear diff output cups so it has either seen a lot of use or has had a powerful motor in it at some point, this could all suggest a worn drive line etc, given that it has few choice hop ups , i would hazard a guess at £35-45 at the most , if it is as worn as it looks then a little less .

i just rebuilt a little used but long neglected Ta-02 for a friend , new bearings and full gear set , great little chassis thats a bag of fun on or off road .

:)

I could see myself spending 70-80 euro on it easily.

FRP plates are quite rare, too bad the plastic parts are missing though as I think they are rarest.

Stabiliser is nice too and not easy too find. Dampers will be gorceous with a bit of clean up.

If the universals are still okay, for that price I'd find it a great buy.

Edit - things would be different once Tamiya decide to release these hop ups again...

I'd probably pay about £60-70 for that TA02 with the frp chassis, it would be a really nice example after it's cleaned up and rebuilt imo.

Seen rough normal TA02's go for £30...

Tamiya's aluminum gold (4) dampers, colored springs - 30

front blue alloy knuckes, - 20 (are those original?)

front universal joints, -15

FRP chassis, -50

rear anti roll bar, -20

turnbuckles all around and steel propeller shaft. -20

hardened diff outdrives (look to be worn out) -0

above are all low estimated prices from parts I have seen and bought over the last couple of years.

already about 150€ in tuning parts, I think you could compare a chassis like that with an TF evo

Think Dutch-rc's and Wez-li's pricing is more in the right direction than the others.

But hey if you can get it for less go for it ;)

I agree with you all about the model condition anc characteristics. I forgot to mention the FRP chassis (missing the plastic parts) and noticed now it has the hard steel arm shafts instead of the screws.

I was thinking about a starting point of 50 € to maximum 75 € considering the car could be worn and abused.

Could be this chassis a starting point for a drift car? I own a front one way for TA-01/TA-02, the front gear diff will go locked at the rear end. A good solution for a very cheap drift car, just for try the drifting?
