I have the TT02 too and got to say it's pretty well made and is really worth the price. Altough, if I had some more money I would've bought the XV01, because it has those wheel arches on the chassis, they may keep some dirt from getting inside.

Maybe anyone knows good ways to keep chassis secure from dirt?

This is how I keep the dirt out of my TT01 rally chassis:

Breathable cotton fabric, elasticised front and rear, secured along the chassis sides with Velcro. Sponge seals keep stones from jamming the steering rack.

you could pick up a TT02B buggy shell (or other 4wd buggy shells that are a snug fit ) and use it as an underbody , unless someone knows of a purpose made underbody for the TT02 it should help a lot , by cutting some thin rubber (old bicycle inner tube is perfect) you can also make baffles that fit snug around the steering links but still allow the links to move freely , this is a great mod if you run on gravel a lot , the steering can get bound up really easily on the tt series , i will try to find a copy of the pics i had of my TT01 rally, but, i have a feeling they were only in my old phone

have fun :)

Quick update - I have bought a car. An original 1991 celica model on a TA01 chassis. It is the one I bid for on eBay but the auction didn't reach it's reserve. I got in touch with the seller and we agreed on a price we were both happy with and the deal was done. We agreed on £115 + p&p which is probably more then it's worth but I was keen to get an old model that I could restore. The trouble is now I think I am going to like this car so much I won't want want to bash it around the garden. I may well be keeping my eye on eBay for a cheap chassis for thrashing. Here is a link to the model I have bought.

Ps I still want a vx01 chassis.
