shenlonco 1156 Posted August 31, 2014 performance RC10 looks hands down scorpion this is why I purchased a scorpion and not the RC10 to me the RC 10 just looks to modern nothing special.
scootmike 36 Posted August 31, 2014 Would be interesting to know the sales figures on the Scorpion versus the RC10. I agree RC10 on performance, it was a game changer. Had considered buying the RC10 re re, but decided to try and find a mint original, and did for quite a bit less than the re re. To me the Scorpion has it all over the RC10 on looks, would love to see a stock to stock and modded shootout.
beetlebanger1 6 Posted August 31, 2014 yep a head to head shoot out..... shame to say the srb would be no where to be seen .
Tamiya1/10 382 Posted August 31, 2014 Was told rc10 was the newer model so should beat scorpion, and that is why I went with the scorpion. I select RC based on the sum of the parts put together, partly i can't drive even if my life depends on it. The proof is run both back to back abd sees which comes out on top. beetlebanger1 6 Posted August 31, 2014 hahahah i admire your honesty ...srbs are just fun ..... so whos willing to race head to head ?
scootmike 36 Posted August 31, 2014 I don't know, if you took a an SRB removed everything except for the essentials, used a CRP type chassis, added a few needed upgrades it may fare better than expected. In the end the result would probably still end up RC10, Scorpion, SRB. I would love to see some vintage races of the early cars such as the Scorp, SRB, AYK Baja, etc.. Grastens 2795 Posted August 31, 2014 ...would love to see a stock to stock and modded shootout. RCCA, RC Driver, et al. - are you seeing this? There would be many interested readers for such an article, and be sure to include lots of photos! If you already have, then carry on... Given what I have read and seen, the RC10 looks like it would win the race, the Scorpion the concours... and the SRB a place in our hearts

Tamiya1/10 382 Posted September 1, 2014 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73749Good comments provided from markbt73 link. There are 2 ways to find out which is better for a time trial. 1) set up both cars with the same motor and keep everything else stocked, meaning whatever parts came with the kit. 2) use whatever up graded parts available to make it perform at its best. The test will be for performance and for durability. In the end I see rc10 will edge out The decision which will you buy is like picking your wife....character / low maintenance = rc10; looks /trophy wife = scorpion :-P The hard part is both models have a bit of each.
