Wide track WW2

Some of you may of read my "Hello"Post and see that I'm re kindling my love for my WW2. Now a few days ago I'm sure I read that a forum member had made his WW2 wider by using other Tamiya car parts, does anyone know if this is possible or was I dreaming it as I can't find the post again .

I think you can also use DF-01 arms and parts.

You just need to swap the WW2 suspension arms, rear dog bones and steering arms for TL01B items. Job done!

My first ww2 had the wide willy mod. If you can deal with the silly look of it being significantly wider than it is long, it's a riot.

Postie delivered the parts today . It's a nice easy job todo and didn't take too long .

I've just got yo give it a quick spin outside

The extra length means you can fit longer shocks or at least shock ends, I think it needs them in the rear.

Something about the front view reminds me of a spider.

When I built my wide willy, I ran Pro Line Speed Hawgs with a trinity 9 turn. Never saw dirt again.

I'm thinking of going for a faster brushed mother or maybe brushless, we will see.

I've fitted the longer ends that came with the longer arms, I may look for longer shocks. I have lost 3 of the spacers for the shock springs, I'm going to make something up to replace them, it should sit a bit better after that

You can make up new lower shock mounts quite easily with some aluminum. That's what I did with mine. Just moved the lower mount point out closer to the wheel

Sorry. No. I just used 1/2"x1/8" flat aluminum. Drilled holes for mounting to suspension arms, and then marked for shock mounting.
