Clodbuster brushless setup

Recommended Posts

I went for the 4600kv kits in the end. I'm glad too as they will be plenty fast enough. 8-)

I bet! Once you turn the end points and punch back up to 100%, = hold on!:)

To those running sensored motors such as the Trackstar, a question on the end bell timing. The TS motors have timing marks from 15-45 degrees. This means it isn't possible to set the timing to zero to get the same performance in both directions. Now I've read in some places that actually the middle 30 degree timing value is really zero degrees, which is a little confusing. If this is the case then that's fine, otherwise I will machine the end bell to allow it to be rotated right round to an indicated zero degrees. just looking for people's findings here.

Yea I am unsure on the motor timing. I set these to zero timing via the castle program link card.

Yes that's also possible with the sensored systems, but the timing from the physical offset of the sensor board from the stator can't be compensated for in the ESC.

Yea I was happy, wet grass so it was wheel spinning most of the time lol.

Have to wait for a dry day to take it on a speed run on a dirt track.

Hi all

I finally decided to go and buy a Terminator chassis from CPE, very nice to deal with and superb service.

It's a great product with a lot off customising potential. I have added another top electronic deck to this so there higher up. I did this so they hopefully do not get as wet.

Also the kit comes with side mounts for the bodyshell which I was unhappy with. The Hpi shells are thin on the sides so I made up a top mount set.

Also I went with a set of 4 proline 1/2" offset wheels with Hot racing 17mm adapters which work very well.

I have also on the way a set off aluminium axle tubes and RC4WD drive shafts to go with this.

Enjoy.

Obviously an awesome machine, but it's not really a Clodbuster anymore. Could you nearly make another one out of all the stuff you took off?

I did indeed yes. No moles were hurt in the process though.

Yea I will get you some more this week. It's all locked away for now. It's a Ford F-150 HPI shell. It comes with the stripes in the kit, blue or orange.

New parts have arrived.

hot racing axle tubes and RC4WD CVD's

The tubes are not very good but I could not find any integy ones. I had to make a spacer up out of plastic to get the hubs to fit. Also the tube for the drive shaft had been machines off and I had to file the inside off the tube out so the drive shaft did not rub!!! Not good.

Anyway there all installed now.
