Clodbuster brushless setup

Recommended Posts

How did I miss the Terminator conversion :o it looks great, and this is really becomming a great build. I am not too keen on the HR axle tubes, but doubt you would have been more satisfied with the Integy stuff. I have build a lot of Maxx trucks, and Integy is by far the worst parts I have had in my hands for the Maxx platform. Could be better for the Clod, but I doubt.

I really like the Trencher X's on this truck, looks great.

Thanks mate,

I tell you the quality control that is not being done on the HR tubes is shocking.

I had a real struggle to get them to work and the internal shaft for the drive shaft to pass through was drilled offset so it was rubbing. I had to file the inside out!!

And has to make up some spacers so the hubs rotated smoothly.

So yea not impressed.

I will hopefully finish it this weekend. 8-)

Hi James, I was wondering where you got the Three strip decals on your polycarb body, been looking for a set just like them :)

They came with the HPI body, if you want to replicate them, get some Model Technics trim line. It sticks very well and will look the same.

Great choice, I love mine. I have mine set to 70% power, and it suits it fine on 2s lipo imo.

Hi mate, could you tell me what timing you have your motors set too?

What pinion also.

I can't seem to get the truck any were near as quick as yours?

Thanks James.

Timing is the default setting from Castle. I run Robinson 14t pinions.

Thanks for the reply mate. I have stock 13T in them, is 1 more tooth really making that much difference?

Iv just ordered some adjustable motor mounts. Thinking of 15T opinions.

I have had loads of use with this truck with no issues.

A rebuild is coming soon as I have had 4mm plates made as I bent the stock 3mm ones and I have some spare lower arms on the way from Bret @CPE also.

Ok, there metal servo brakets that a guy in America made from mild steel a few years back, very good. His forum tag was Mattziller I think, it was a crawler forum but I'm not 100%.

I had to buy a few more last year and found some aluminium ones on eBay buddy.
