neverfollow 599 Posted September 9, 2014 There M4 I think. You could turn up a M5 to M4 adapter threaded stud but I don't see the point really, other than you would not have to thread lock the bolt each time as the m4 is a nylock nut. J Yes, I don't really see the point either. On a side note, I ordered an Axial Wraith interior and will try to fit it. I may have to change the driver since he doesn't have a lower half. Hopefully all goes well! Pics to follow...
kontemax 1725 Posted September 9, 2014 I don't know all mechanical English words what I want to do is make an inner threaded axle inside the CVD axle that exit with a 4mm thread for the nylon nut. This inner axlex will be kept in place by the blue treadlock and the wheel adapter locking pin. Max
neverfollow 599 Posted September 9, 2014 I guess it would be like a heli-coil insert?
Jamesssb 237 Posted September 9, 2014 I guess it would be like a heli-coil insert? Yes that would work but you may have to open the hole up some more.
neverfollow 599 Posted September 11, 2014 Little update..alloy hubs came in today Before: Original hub with shaved stops for more steering: Side by side: New hub fitted: And after: Definitely achieved my goal of more steering angle with these hubs. They are stronger, smaller, and possibly even lighter than the original plastic pieces. Just waiting on a few more items and my Clod will be complete. I plan to give it a good thrashing this weekend if the weather is nice. But I'm already thinking about what will be next project Torn between a Trail Finder 2 (though I will not likely defect from Tamiya), a High-Lift, or a CR-01. Decisions, decisions, decisions... neverfollow 599 Posted September 12, 2014 Gave it some bumper mounted spot lights this evening. I got these from eBay, not knowing they weren't LED So I removed the bulbs, drilled the centers to fit a 5mm LED, and threaded the original bulb hole for an attachment bolt. I had to move the bumper up a hair to clear the wiring, but I am pleased with the results. And with my camera flash
Kevin_Mc 411 Posted December 12, 2014 Sorry to bump an older thread - where did you get the GMC grille and tailgate? Also, what about the original Clod grille - how was the black applied behind the chrome?

neverfollow 599 Posted December 12, 2014 Sorry to bump an older thread - where did you get the GMC grille and tailgate? Also, what about the original Clod grille - how was the black applied behind the chrome? CPE sells the grill and tailgate. http://crawfordperformanceengineering.com/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=Gmc&x=0&y=0 For the original grille I used an ultra fine paint marker to color in the portion that is supposed to be black. neverfollow 599 Posted January 10, 2015 So maybe I'm at take 3 now... After the last outing, I cracked both front axle tubes. So I replaced them with alloy pieces. While doing so I decided to lengthen the wheelbase and taking full advantage of the 4 link set up. I changed the axle attachment brackets to accommodate the links. I originally had the upper links mounted a little further back, on posts in order to keep the dampers in a straight position. Here it is before... And after... Looks much better in my opinion, and it should handle better as well.
