HI, I am UK based and and trying to find the best online shop to buy my spare parts from. I have found a company called Tamico and their prices look pretty good but they are based in Germany so shipping may be expensive (it may not be but I cant find the information as don't speak German).

So any suggestions for places I can try for new tamiya parts?

Tamico and modellbau-seidel are both based in Germany, and unfortunatley both charge a flat rate on postage - typically 10 euros whether you buy a full kit or just a pack of washers.

UK based sellers (some better than others for certain models)..

www.fusionhobbies.com

www.tamiyaparts.co.uk

www.wonderlandmodels.co.uk

via eBay ..

Tonys Tamiya Parts (europro975) is mormally competitive, but a few other uk sellers exist and can be cheaper from time to time.

outside Europe..

RC Geeks in Crawley are good as is Mick Charles Models near Epsom. It's worth checking their location as many are happy for you to collect even if they don't have a shop.

I also find asiatees.com good for hop-ups (GMP, 3racing etc) as well as RCdamper (another ebay store).

Both based in Hong Kong and both with reasonable shipping - in terms of cost and delivery time (IMH).

hi ,

i use rc mart , asiatees, rc mushroom , jazzhobby , stella , selections hardware on ebay can be very good with great prices and rapid shipping but stock is intermittent depending on what kits they are breaking up for spares , its worth keeping an eye on hobbyking as it would appear they are moving into the mainstream , i noticed they had associated kits and futaba and sanwa radio systems , i think it is only a matter of time before they start selling other brands too ,

have fun

Favourite shops - Lightwatermodels (Victor101car in the UK) and Banzai Hobby. :)

Both communicate excellent and often ship at low postage.

If you click on my signature below, there are several direct links to shops on the front page by the way...

Tamico are excellent but it pays to be buying a few things at once. As far as translating their website, install Google's Chrome browser and that will auto-translate the whole site on the fly page by page, right before your eyes! Alternatively you can install the Google Translate extension/add-on on Firefox and get the same result.

if you want to save money, you must put in the time. Look around for the best buy and shipping. Aisatees claims it has the best price, but i found rcmart is cheaper, but rcmart stuff could be more expensive than purchase direct as currently 3racing f113 is cheaper to buy from 3racing and rcmart combo deal is more expensive than if you buy individually from them. I don't know why rcmart does it whether knowingly or the left hand don't know what the right hand is doing.

Bottom line keep checking around unless your time is worth more than the saving available.
