Not a fan of the front wing, or the general resemblance to a blob of melted chewing gum, but the concept is sound. I am actually quite surprised Tamiya haven't released a wheelie buggy yet themselves...

I like the Stig style driver, but the rest sucks...

I agree with XV Pilot though - the concept is sound enough... anyone willing to butcher a new Super Champ shell perhaps?! - if only I hadn't sold my Rough Rider* body...

Jx

*although in this instance, perhaps a rear wing is kind of appropriate (for stickers!) - it's just a shame the Frog and Hornet etc. are lexan too...

I kind of want to like it, but I just can't. Though the Stig-style driver is cool.

But hopefully it's just the beginning, maybe there are more bodies for the WR-02 / GF-01 in the pipeline?

Let me finish my 037 first! ;)

... :P

I like the concept, and maybe even the execution. It looks outrageous enough to fit the ridiculous proportions of the WR-02.

Shim one chassis up, add some blue alloy, slap that shell on, and you have a WR-02 TRF Edition! (never mind modifying it for Li-Po packs, hex screws, better wheels, or, you know, a factory driver willing to campaign it!)

It does however make me want to get a Mad Bull shell (less than 8 quid on the Bay) and have a go at shortening it. I was kinda hoping that was what Tamiya was going to do with the Tumbling Bull, before it was revealed to be a tractor...

Would you all say something else if Tamiya's name is on it?

Really? I think we would all be a little more sad if Tamiya was responsible...

... except I seem to be the one potentially visually-impaired individual in this world who actually kind of likes it!

Nope, there's plenty of Tamiya stuff I don't like ;-)

To me, this kind of misses the point. I think part of the charm of the wheelie series is the realistic bodies - not necessarily scale, but there's a strong resemblance to an actual vehicle. Combining a recognisable body with a short wheelbase chassis and over-sized tyres and you immediately have that sort of 'cartoon' look. It just doesn't work with a UFO-blob buggy shell.

Nope! I'd say "Jeeze what's that POS that Tamiya have put out now? Talk about scrapping the barrel"

What were they thinking with that front wing? Did they have a surplus if plastic to use up?
