Hi guy's have a old CC01 that I JB welded the front diff gears in the whole unit and I do have DT02 buggies is the DT02 buggy rear diff the same one used in the front of the cc01 ?

It looks the same to me?

Any info would be great

IIRC, the CC01 uses the same standard internal gears as many other Tamiyas including the TL01, DF01, etc. However it uses the chunkier diff housing held together by 3mm self-tappers, as used on the DT01, WR01, etc.

Will the above things linked work as I ordered them?

I would have to pull my CC01 apart to be certain, but from what I remember, the internal gears will work but the TL01 plastic diff housing will be too small.

bummer!

Maybe I can salvage my cc01 gear maybe the glue will come out but I don't think so! LOL!!

Chances are, you'll be able to pop out the JB-welded internal gears as one piece, and the outer gear/diff housing will be OK. I don't think JB Weld sticks very well to nylon. It's worth a try, anyway.

Cool have to give it a go I am sure there had to be some oily residue in the gear casing as I cleaned all the grease off it and then glued it all up .

Thanks

I always lock Tamiya diffs by moving one of the spider gears in-between the other two (i.e. not on the shaft) - its completely reversible too :)

Shen, why not having a look at the manuals provided by TamiyaUSA.com to check what models share the same differential casing and inside gears? :)

If it still won't shift drop it in hot water for 5 mins and try again. It's usually enough to get the two different materials to expand at different rates and break the seal.

Just want to mention that using a ball diff with 3mm bushings is the 'nicest' way of locking a diff in my book.

That's the way to make a spool diff, also offering some slip protection. Plus it's easily and completely reversible.

Never mind we were talking gear diffs here of course...
