I imagine a light sanding with high grit paper then a few coats of spray paint? Anybody have success or suggestions? Cheers!

Don't understand why you would do that to a metallic edition?

I love the looks of mine. I would do it to a plain shell. Unless it's badly scratched.

Or stick the whole thing in the dishwasher - sometimes it completely removes the chrome plating without affecting the plastics at all - and it makes it nice and clean :D

I can understand why someone would do it - Tamiya have a habit of flooding the market with 'ltd editions' which are nothing more than a bit of chrome plating - making these versions of the shells ocasionally more common than the 'regular' counterpart, in this instance the black ABS unfinished body.

What would look awesome on a chrome metallic is some of Tamiya's clear paints. Red or orange with the chrome shining through would be the bling king

I did paint it in the end. I went with Tamiya metallic blue. Put on 3 coats and then covered with two coats of a matte clear coat. You can still see the metal flake but it's not too shiny. I'll post some pics. I also added the Tamiya cva dampers. Those make the car very driveable with the stock motor. Probably going to go to a torque tuned or sport tuned for a little more pop. It's a really fun RC to drive!!!!
