Hi Gang, I have a holiday buggy which I thought was original, but looking at a sand rover manual I see that the front spring mounts (moulded on the chassis) are the same as on my bug. The chassis has holiday buggy moulded on to it. Does anyone know if the chassis was updated or if this is a sand rover part. Cheers Rob.

Tamiya often uses the chassis from one car on others. For example the Falcon tub is also used on the Bearhawk, Stadium Thunder, Stadium Blitzer and Blitzer Beetle but the tub still says 'Falcon' in the moulding. This is likely what you are seeing since the HB came before the Sand Rover it will say Holiday Buggy in the moulding.

Hope that helps.

yea i think Twmaster is wright,

its the same case with lots of tamiyas, the monster beetle has rc blackfoot in the moulding of the gears and stuff, and the tamiya juggernaut has rc clod buster on parts aswell.

i ges when it comes to new cars tamiyas motto is "if it aint broke, dont fix it". - and when they do fix it, they usually get it all wrong![}:)]

If you download both the Holiday and Sand Rover manual you will see that the chassis build-up is almost the same. The only differences are the motor-mount and gear set-up and the rear body mounts. I`m actually right in the middle of transforming a Holiday Buggy to a Sand Rover.[:)]

Hi,

There are actually 2 different chassis, 1 for the Hol bug and 1 for the Rover. They both have Holiday buggy stamped on them but one is a later chassis made for the Sand Rover which has an extra machined screw hole on the back to house the 540 motor mount that came with the Sand Rover kit but wasn't inc with the Hol bug.

Hope this helps

Same is true on FAV and Wild One, Wild One has FAV moulded into its chassis tub but has an extra two body post mounts moulded into it for the body and battery plate. And its black (which is pretty obvious). So you couldn't build a proper Wild One from a standard FAV chassis.
