Hi guys,

I own a Core Code Tx http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Manufacturer/Core_RC/CR151.html which has a cradle for 8xAA batteries. But I'm sick and tired of the fickle nature of NiMHs and would like to try a LiPo or LiFe in my transmitter. A couple have caught my eye, but I'm not sure if they're wholly compatible.

If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. Does anyone have any experience using the Core Code handset with LiPo batteries? Do you have any pointers for use - do's/don'ts, charging, compatibility, etc...

Many thanks for any suggestions

I run mine on Duracell rechargeable batteries, lasts a long time and they charge reasonably swiftly too.

My transmitter looks like it would need modification to run a lipo battery. Even then, I would be worried because on several occasions I have forgotten to switch it off which eventually kills the batteries.

Thanks for the tip. I'm pretty good at turning off the transmitter - a tough lesson learned from my one run a day days. I do have some LSD batteries, which I've yet to use, but I find that NiMHs go a bit funny after while, with the odd battery refusing to charge. I dare say that they've been over charged or over discharged.

The safety protected pack is one that I've also looked at and it actually seems a bit smaller than the two I've highlighted. It seems like a good buy, but I'll research a bit further.

Thanks.

I use Sanyo Eneloop in my tx and have been astonished with how long they last between charges, even with weeks between use I find they last months at a time!

Another happy Eneloop user here, too. They last so much better than regular NiMH batteries, and they never failed me - unlike cheaper equivalents (Eneready batteries from Reichelt Elektronik) which died within one year.

Thanks.

Like I say, I have some LSD batteries by Turnigy. I suppose I should try them before anything else. Hopefully better than what I'm using now.
