Well I have ordered wheels and tyres and an axel set.

Sure with what that lot cost I could have got a new car.

EBay is a killer, while I was there I ordered two 1/32 kits for the kids to play with while I test the new monster rail.

I used to have both a Grasshopper and a Grasshopper 2 fitted with Lunchbox tires before I bought a Mad Bull. While both were fun neither handled as well as the Mad Bull and the thin wire steering links really took a beating. They were always bending. The Mad Bull has longer arms and stouter steering links so handled the big tires better.

The twin motor trucks are great as Mongoose said. I have a Twin Detonator and it is a blast to drive and goes anywhere!!! It was a bit slow with silver cans and 18t pinions, but goes better with Sport Tuned motors and 20t pinions. It will put a smile on your face and they are really tough too! At first I thought they were fragile compared to my E-Maxx but time has proven me wrong. I beat the stuffing out it for almost seven years now, including running a battery pack about 2 hours ago and that truck is still going strong as ever.

Highly recommend the Twin Det, or Twin Dagger, etc. They are a bit pricey and they need an ESC capable of handling 2x motors + upgraded shocks. The stock friction shocks are a joke and I don't like the MSC that comes in the kit. Otherwise I give them top marks for a stock kit.

Another vote here for a WR01 or WT01-based truck if you are considering an all-purpose addition to your fleet as a companion to your Lunchboxed Hornet. I have one of each, and both perform well. Neither have suffered any breakages either, even though the WR01 has been run regularly for going on 7 years now.

I can see how this could get out of control

Is there a site with listings and pictures of all the frame types and bodies available? I think I feel the need to read a bit now

Careful as tamiyas have a habit of breeding

I would also go for a Wild Dagger . As standard their ok if a little slow IMO . Add a pair of sport tuned or similar and 20T pinions and it transforms it . Want a bit more speed ? Run it on 2S Lipo . Want to go slower - add some cheap crawler motors . they can be had for £20 a pair .

If you want to go insane and convert it to 4x4x4 thats also a option !!!

4X4X4 a.k.a. 4WD+4WS is very easy to achieve with the WR01/WT01 chassis. The main chassis is fully symmetrical, so all you need to do is replicate the front steering arrangement at the rear by buying a couple of extra parts, and away you go! Add dual ESCs and a 4-channel radio, and you have a vehicle that can go in pretty much any direction.

Mine's great fun with the Clod wheels fitted and will indeed go just about anywhere . its also proved to be totally reliable so far . I've even had my 2 year grandson riding on it lol

If you are lucky you can get a Wild Dagger (WR01) or likewise for 60€ shipped and in good condition.

(I just did :) it may have just run ones, even came with esc and servo) then add some bearings, alloy hexes, steel pinions. and its good to go

Ah and lock the rear diff on the WR01 and WT01 and and they really go nearly everywhere. (slight increase on steering radius)

Both diffs are locked on mine Waterbok but with the four wheel steering and high torque servos the steering radius is still reasonable. i agree on beefing it up with alloy hex's ect . In fact i went all in on mine and fitted alloy bulkheads , 100mm shocks , suspension arms and hubs . IMO worth the cost in this case as their far stronger and not just bling . i can dead drop mine from 4 feet plus with no ill effects .
