Thanks. I will do a build thread for it when I get to it. I have a box to open now so I am hoping I have a Bull Fighter to build tonight

Well I got a package but not quite what I expected.

DT-01 chassis, no body, no wheels as expected.

A Street Rover chassis, no body, no wheels. Whats that all about then? is a Street Rover? Looks like the camp ist thing on earth. The Internet leaves me to believe this is a stock DT-02 chassis? If that is the case my wheels will ft but not my Mad Bull body.

Bonus!

The Street Rover DT02 chassis is a fair bit more advanced than the DT01. This is definitely a mistake that has gone in your favour!

The polycarbonate Sand Viper bodyshell would fit your DT02 chassis, and is usually available quite cheaply. Looks good with the Carson wheels too:

I would consider getting one for your DT02, and keeping the second Mad Bull shell as a spare for your DT01. Being a hardbody that you paint on the outside, they do show wear if run regularly. It is nice to have one shell for running, and a second for looking nice when on display.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you had received a DT02 and a DT01 instead of two DT01s?

Yes that's correct.

DT-01 built now, bar the electrics.

I need to build the DT-02 sharpish to make sure the parts are all there.

The mad bull shell fits on the Hornet chassis, sort of, but I think the Hornet will have to go now and I will keep both the DT-01 for the boy and the DT-02 for me and then justify the Mud blaster later.

Well, then... MAAAAN what a steal! Be proud! :D

Turns out not to be so good. Looks like the kit has been a shop spares raider. The C spur and parts of the C bag are missing.

First part needed for the build is the shock tower, which is on spur C. Seller contacted so all I can do now is wait.........

Or start the WT-01 build

Shooting clay birds later so my day is pretty much gone now

The C parts are often raided from shop kits as the front shock tower is probably the most commonly-damaged part on the DT02. Hopefully the seller will send you a new one promptly.

What is missing from the C bag?

What is missing from the C bag?

Missing parts are

19442103 x 7

19805853 x 2

19804511 x 4

19443023 x 2

19804158 x 4

19808244 x 2

I assume they came in a small additional bag. If they are going to send a tower I assume they can send the bag as well.

I might have most of the bits in another spares pot but want it right from the start before I start mixing and matching.

Does anyone do a strengthened shock tower? Might be a good place to start Hopping Up

Aye, it is. Carson do an alloy shock tower brace, available from Fusion Hobbies amongst others. 3Racing do a replacement shock tower assembly in carbon and alloy. There are probably other aftermarket towers available too.

However most people make their own brace out of a couple of ball connectors and a turnbuckle or threaded rod, which seems to work just as well.

I was looking at the carbon shock extension and brace kit, recommended by a race website. I was just thinking if I could replace the whole lot it might be quicker than waiting for the C parts.

I am going to finish playing with the Bull Fighter body this week end I think and still got lots to do to the Hornet so not short of things to do........

When you get the shocks for your WT-01, might I recommend also getting the GPM alloy extended/reinforced shock towers? They allow the fitment of longer shocks with more travel, and relieve stress from the stock plastic shock towers, meaning they are less likely to suffer damage in heavy landings.

Fusion Hobbies sell them locally, or if you are okay with the delays and risks associated with ordering from the East, Asiatees have them a bit cheaper.

Regarding this i also saw that Fibre-Lite sell carbon fibre shock towers which I am hoping to source. Mega bling and less flex than aluminium!

The 54567 dampers will fit the DT-02, too. They differ from regular CVA dampers in having a single-piece metal piston, and do not come with mounting hardware.

The regular pistons are a 2-piece affair using a metal rod and plastic discs (with different hole counts for adjustments) secured by e-clips.

Cool, I will build them up and see when they get here.

So many options
