mp44_tom 45 Posted November 15, 2014 You're welcome here step 2 I tried to find flanged ball bearings (5x10x3) for this, but Tamiya doesn't have them (at least I haven't found them......) XV Pilot 1936 Posted November 15, 2014 Rcbearings.co.uk should be able to get the correct flanged bearings for you.

bromvw 744 Posted November 20, 2014 Great Thread with excellent - almost studio quality photos . I'd forgotten just what a simple chassis design this is . In its own way a piece of art IMO
mp44_tom 45 Posted November 23, 2014 Thanks !! Indeed, I think the chassis design is pretty good and sturdy.... as for the photo's, I'll do my best, but with the current conditions (winter coming) it is difficult to get some good lighting... and I don't have a studio so I try to get it right with the white balance..... In the mean time I ordered some ball bearings to replace the messing 1150 and 850 types that come with the kit And here step 5 with parts (and sub-constructions) and the result Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted November 27, 2014 Just received my ball bearings" from Hong Kong, so i can make some progress Here step 6, front suspension almost finished the parts and assembled Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted November 27, 2014 And step 07 which concludes the front axe the parts used and result Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted December 1, 2014 Like I said, I received the ball bearings from Hong Kong Total cost was 9,50 euro so , lets go on with step 8 and the parts the difference between the normal 1150 and the new one and assembled..... Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted December 7, 2014 Step 9 The Gearbox assembly The parts (I put up the new 1150 bearings on the photo) and the result from different angles Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted December 7, 2014 And we continue with step 10 The parts (here the bearrings (BM2 / 850) are also replaced with "real" ones and the result Tom

mongoose1983 3335 Posted April 24, 2015 Whatever happened to the XR311. Is it all finished and running by now?
mp44_tom 45 Posted October 30, 2015 Ah yes, it's up and running now.... anyone want me to finish this report here ?? (I admit that I forgot.... ) Tom
mongoose1983 3335 Posted October 30, 2015 Would be nice to see the rest of the build and perhaps some action photo too.
ChrisRx718 4470 Posted October 30, 2015 I'd love to see it finished too, always been intrigued by these models. I know it's easy to feel disenchanted when people don't comment on a thread, but rest assured I'll be reading!
beefmuffin 1156 Posted October 30, 2015 Me too! I'm still tempted to pick up one of these weird things if the prices stay good...
mongoose1983 3335 Posted October 31, 2015 [...] There doesn't seem to be much love for build threads on this forum. I do believe that depends on 1) the model that's being build and 2) the mods and/or ideas that might be of use to other TCers.
Pintopower 1456 Posted October 31, 2015 I also would love to watch. I have to admit that I do read and fail to reply. Just because you don't get a reply doesn't mean you shouldn't post. Trust me I have had many threads started by me and responded to only by me. Post because you want to (though seriously, I do want you to). ... and 3) the member who's doing the building... There is somewhat of a clique on this forum, as there is on many others. However this thread is not the place to discuss such things. Dorvack. Really? Glad I haven't noticed. I'm on a ton of forums and I have no time to care how popular or derided (the second is more accurate) that I am. Cliques are lame. Comense the build...and like mongoose said, the action shots!!
mp44_tom 45 Posted October 31, 2015 Hi Guys Well, at least there is interest, and that motivates me enough to continue So let's continue with step 12 The RS 540 motor The parts And I made some pictures, but the lighting was totally wrong, so this is actually the picture of part 13...... Tom
mp44_tom 45 Posted October 31, 2015 And I'll continue with 13 right away.... The parts (lets start with Gear B, and the result..... sorry for the bad picture, don't look at it too long or else you're gonna be sick and like I said with step 12, the same picture Tom
XV Pilot 1936 Posted November 1, 2015 Thanks for continuing the thread. I am looking forward to the next update!
berman 5315 Posted November 1, 2015 Yes thank you for continuing, I remember reading the start, and always been intrigued by the torsion bar setup that people said always broke on the original. It is an interesting model, and the price is good. Suprised not to see more of them.
