Holiday Buggy, Sand Rover Chassis?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone identify this chassis??

It looks like a Holiday Buggy, Sand Rover one, but has some differences. is it after market, maybe prototype??

There are no ribs inside the tub and none on the bottom.

That does not have the word "Tamiya" in it, or does it?

No, Tamiya or Tamiya logo anywhere.

Sorry to disappoint then, I'm afraid that is not a Tamiya produced chassis. I have the original car here and the chassis has Tamiya, model name, and Made in Japan in it. But it still is very interesting to get to see such a rare item. It's the first time I have ever seen something like it!

Did this chassis come with any other parts? I wonder how well a body fits on it, that could be a clue to it being aftermarket or not. Personally I would guess an early version, since the missing ribbing could indicate a preproduction version, before strengthening ribs were added.

Good find though.
