Ok, then i would take 2 of the A Parts for the King Cab to.

I run the standard silver can motor in my King Cab, but the differentials are to weak and they slip like mad.

I´ve ruined one of my differentials by overtightening it, so i`ll be so happy to run my beloved King Cabs again, they are my favorite RC´s!

Thinking about it, there are a couple of other parts for the Wild Willy M38 which would be easy to make and quite popular I would think...

The window bracket

The suspension mount for the SWB version.

Happy to sort out pictures of the WWM38 parts if that helps.

I remember no wishes, dreams, opinions or suggestions.

Which parts do you want and how many of them.

Make a list for the items you will really need and you will pay for.

Many thanks

Hey Max, the Astute A1 part is readily available in alloy for US $25 plus postage. Stormer Hobbies part # BCA3040

I'm interested in yours too of course. Also the Astute diff, what do you propose (alloy diff housings or more) ?

Posted

Very close to zero. I believe that is better point to mechanical parts.

Max

Any chance he could do an aluminum ORV chassis for Monster beetle/ blackfoot, etc..??

Posted

I own one of them, I believed they were no more produced.

Let's see what happen.

Just saw this I think if you put these on eBay you would sell loads more lots of rc collectors are not on here, it's sad but true, I will take a ball diff for the lunchbox for myself and potentially I would take a few of each if could get a real trade price and sell them on eBay for you, as I'm a ebay trader and have a few rc stuff on there most of the time.

Hi, the problem is to reach the money to start the production. This call for action is just to find 10 persons that will pay for the piece, then we can think about more parts to sell.

OK, here's and idea for you.

This is something I am hoping to do for a clodbuster I recently bought, but have no interest in making more than one set for myself. Lots of people lock the rear steering on the clodbuster using a lockout tie rod. A much stronger option would be to replace parts E1 (Axle tube) and D1 and D2 (wheel uprights) with a solid 1 piece axle tube that extends all the way to the drive hubs. The existing wheel axle and drive shaft could then be replaced with a one piece item, much stronger and simpler and doesn't rely on track rods to keep the rear wheels straight. Make the tubes from thickwall steel and you won't need to fit the axle supports either :).

Good luck with the project.

PS, might be worth pointing that the monster beetle ball diff should also fit all the hotshot series and I think the wild one as well.

I still say ball diff for the Blackfoot family. I do know the owner of MIP really well and he said he would be interested in producing Tamiya hop up parts if we can prove a demand and I design the parts for him. Just throwing it out there,

Another Monster Beetle ball diff here.

Also Midnight Pumpkin alloy body mounts.

Not sure if I'm asking the impossible here but Sand Scorcher rear trailing arms, proper ones that don't create crazy camber angles.

So

Monster Beetle Ball Diff - 1pc

Midnight Pumpkin Alloy Body Mounts - 1 pc (4 mounts)

Sand Scorcher trailing arms - 1 pc (both sides)

If the screw holding the shaft from the other side is properly tightened, A1 rarely breaks. Believe me. ;-)

I also have never broken an A1 part. But then I find I don't usually have trouble with the more commonly broken parts on various vehicles anyway.

Still think a Marui Big Bear diff upgrade would be a good seller.

Can I ask how much cash something reasonably simple like a modified motor plate or replacement window brackets for the Wild Willy M38 would cost if you need to make 10?

Certain parts can be inexpensively 3D printed. Other parts like the motor plate you are talking about or parts like a ball diff will need materials higher in quality than a 3D printer can effectively do (at this point in time). As to how much, I think the only way to figure that out is to ask a machine shop. 10 is still a low number but I agree with Kontemax, any more may be hard to get more people to buy into. I think 10 people is a good number to hit.

Ok people,

let's go ahead with this thread. I left it for some days because I was busy. I called the person that could make the parts, he is interested depending the number of pieces ordered and difficulty to realize them (more difficulty = more working hours = more costs). It's an economical problem,at the end.

Just to keep me ahead with the work I starting to project the diff parts. This is a rough obviously.

Let's go to the updated list:

Ok, we got 10 Monster Beetle ball differentials.

This is a good starting point. But remember, this not means that the items are done.

I must speak again with the machinist, I must explain him what we want and so on. Then he must say me the possible price for the operation. If the price is possible we can reach the money and make the ball differentials.

I would explain what is the problem about the cost of an operation like this one.

The material has a cost. The machinery has a cost. The machinist has a cost.
Each hour that the machinery works has a cost. Each hour that the machinery doesn't work has a cost. Also each hour the machinist works has a cost. Everything has a cost, dramatically.
The machinery doesn't start to produce like a magic. The machinist must set up the machinery before it starts to cut. All this dead time is a cost while the machinery doesn't produce. Once the machinery starts to produce you have no more this kind of cost because you have it only as start up cost. Then if you produce 10.000 pieces this cost is divided for 10.000 pieces, if you produce 10 pieces this cost is divided for 10 pieces. This is the problem. The problem is not to realize the items, the problem is their cost.

This was already done with rear straight axles for the Clod and the TXT.
