Tamiya Era 778 Posted November 27, 2014 Hello my Nice Friends at TC, It has been a long time since i even posted in the forum. As some of you know, i became a father to baby boy and since then my life has been changed..loool. Now everything is under-control and finally got some soul back..heheheheh.... I am back with a n exciting topic as can be seen Since i dont have a stock Vanquish, this build will be purely a Stock Build ( had enough with Hop-Ups build ) and of-course, this will be a shelver!. This will be a little slow process but i guarantee you will enjoy it!... So Avante Family fans, Keep your eyes WIDE OPEN for this Guide.. I will leave you with box photos till next step! 20141127_161315-1 by lego4ever79, on Flickr 20141127_161433-1 by lego4ever79, on Flickr 20141127_161452-1 by lego4ever79, on Flickr BTW, This was a sealed kit.. ( i dont like to keep these kits in the storage , so either i sell them which is not my preference or build them which is for sure i will do.. Cheers!
Top Force Racer 3 Posted November 27, 2014 One of my favorite models! In fact, I'm running a stock Vanquish front end (bigger bumper, front gear diff, and G8 part) in my Egress runner.

Ok got over the shock , now put in back in storage ... The sad fun over , will enjoy watching the build TE . My thoughts exactly. But it's an age old problem, isn't it? Leave it or build it? Shelve it or run it? I have NIB Egress 2013 that I'm terrified to open and build (and run), but I'm not sure why. Like a lot of other Tamiya collectors, I have a problem in this regard.
Tamiya Era 778 Posted November 27, 2014 Fruutfly01 and matman@:Respect your views but i got bored from keeping this NIB...ohh man!..last time i built my nib Vanquish was in 1990 and since then never had this experience again. So now i have the chance. Why to keep it ignored :-).....I still have vintage Egress, Avante 88 and re re egress NIB. But this Vanquish has to be built.....Plus all my builds are New builds on shelf. Only i have 2 runners ( Egress 2013 and Avante 1988 )...I love when open the box, the smell of the contents..etc...huuuh what a relaxing...Cheers Mates

Quandry 378 Posted November 27, 2014 Wow! very interesting build. I have just got my hands on a couple of NIBs and the temptation to build vs the thought of trying to find another NIB is particularly tortuous! I enjoy your build threads though mate and will enjoy watching this one come together no doubt!
Wez-li 1790 Posted November 27, 2014 I know some people like to have nib kits, but I'll never understand it. It's like when you see an amazing car like a ferrari f40 with only a few thousand miles on it in 25 odd years, utterly ridiculous, if you're lucky enough to be in a position to own something nice, use it and enjoy it. You can't take it with you guys I'll get off my soapbox now, looking forward to seeing the stock vanquish build, yellow cva's ftw
matman 1499 Posted November 27, 2014 Yeeeeessss break those seals :) To those with sealed kits, how do you know it's actually in there? That would keep me awake at night lol Because it tamiya quality ! of course , So whats there to worry about . Funny how some of us can't bring our selfs to do so , But other just jump straight in . I love that NIB smell , it bring's back the 80's . Let alone any other emotion & memory .. Small is a powerfull thing ! & what it can bring back .

This is a hobby for one & some like to collect NIB . << getting harder . Just for the joy of seeing them & may not be into building . Why do people collect stamps / spoons etc & leave them NIB / NIP ?. Just like old toys still NIB . << comes down to this ( you just don't fine them that much , still in box ) . I'm sure this was the next step to collecting as it was rear to find ?. Some like to run there cars . Some like to rip open a NIB & build it . Some like to rip open a NIB & OMG!! RUN IT . So TE M8 , you enjoy your NIB build as mush as us , watching you build it . :PS or just send it to me . Looking forward to see you build it M8 .
