Thanks mate!

The wheels I got from Rogue Element Components, but he makes limited quantities with a one time production run, so these are no longer available...he made two sizes, 1.55 and 1.9 , in two styles ..8 slot and 10 hole....

http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78919

Im using the 1.55 8-slot on the overlander, got the matching 10 hole stashed away,  but like an idiot, I sold off the 1.9 8-slot before trying it out with the touring car tires...really kicking myself now...lol!

very, very impressive to get those dress up bits detailed that well. To me, the Edelbrock logo looks like it's spelt Edolbrock though ?

They do some impressive stuff. The rims remind me of the ones Dad had on his 1974 Ford XB Panel Van.

ah, thats a shame. I would imagine they are well sort after rims too.

the dual headlights definitely look better, well done. How or where did you get the lenses?

Hey thanks yogi-bear!  i bought the lenses when I first started the build thinking that they will work for the single headlight version...turns out that they were way to small...lol! But seems a perfect size for the duals! These lenses came off the parts tree  for the Tamiya Globeliner. They were meant to be the bumper lights. I also re-purposed the rectangular lenses that came on the tree for my MK2 Escort front bumpers as turn signals, but haven't installed them as yet!

Shorter days and longer nights can only mean one thing...... Building time is here!    Back at it again....lol!

So kicked it off with an old school points and condenser distributor ..... Still haveta prime, putty  and wet sand then make a mold for it...then try pulling a few casts...

Watcha think? It's mocked up with glue dots in the pics so a bit askew....lol...

Been going through the tedious task of converting the pics from photobucket to Flickr on the original thread on Scale4X4 ... As soon as I complete the conversion I'll start fixing the pics here...!

Been hunting high and low for suitable material for the grille inserts, as its way too tiny for me to attempt to scratch build ...was looking at model train construction bits but was pointed in the right direction by 2Beers! Thanks buddy! The sewing aisle is where it's at! Lol...worked out pretty sweet!

Like the big doofus I am... I keep letting small stuff get me distracted..... Last night when I should have been getting the distributor ready for the mold, I kept staring at it and thinking....it's missing something.... Like plug wires....AND PLUGS!
Here's my first attempt...I got so excited making it...I screwed up the dimensions...it should be longer at the thread end and shorter at the white end... And I need to figure out how to hold the brass Rod so it doesn't bend when cutting the threads with the die.
Also managed to get a nut pressed into the block so the plug is removeable.....!
After I get the mold done, I will have a go at it again....see if I could get the plug a bit more scale....got to make 8 of them.....

Anywho... Watcha think?

Hey, great to see you are back into this. The detail in the motor and grille is awesome, especially the spark plugs, thats dedication to scale-ness! I doubt anyone is gonna spot the inaccuracy in the spark plugs length though.

Loving all the detail in this engine, its a project in its own right really. Is the holley pushed out of a mould, or 3D printed ? Just thinking 4 of them would look good perched atop the 2 supercharger casings on the War Rig bonnet .....

Thanks yogi-bear! Yeah...it's about time I got this wrapped up...lol! Got derailed with the photo bucket issue...started the conversion to Flickr , but been spending too much time on it. So decided to push on and let the pics catch up whenever...lol!

Thanks mate! Actually it's a bit of both....lol!  A 3D print that was modded to fit, then mold and cast.

I had to do some tweaking on the mold for the distributor, but I think I finally got it sorted. I had to 'cap' the plug wire holes as the resin was barely getting down in the area in the mold, as you can see from the one on the right. So after capping it I made a new mold and the resin cast worked out nice. So now for each piece I will have cut off the caps. Not sure if I will drill them out as it may weaken the posts....will try to drill one and see what's what. They are going to be covered by the plug boots anyway....lol....

waiting on some bits to come in to make the plug wires with boots etc....should be here mid-week....!

Anywho...here's a pic of it....watcha think?

Awesome build, super detail. Been following this for awhile.

Unfortunately Holden shut it's manufacturing doors for good recently here.

Hey guys.... What's up? I know it's been six months since I last posted...but it seems that photobucket's embargo has been lifted...lol...my pics are back up...!

I'm still building.... Just slowed down a bit...lol... Started on a HQ Tonner...then hit a wall when I couldn't find any more of those 1/18 spring loaded hood/ bonnet hinges...So  I guesstimated what 1/10 should be based on the measurements of the 1/18 ones and came up with this...took a bit of trial and error... Watcha think?

I decided to do some more brass work..decided to try building a hood/bonnet latch for the Holdens I'm building.....this is what I came up with...!

Well...I'm still trying to dial it in....but it seems to work mostly...kinda...lol....made enough for the 5 Holdens that I'm building...lol! Sweet!

Did a small vid...unfortunately the only opened hood I had available to test it on was the the Blazer...but hey...Holdens are also Chevys....like cousins...once removed! Lol...

Watcha think?
