As long as you have the protective case on it, a GoPro willl be fine. I've had one fall 500 ft out of the sky and I only had to replace the back door of the case.

Not so much the fall shock and the grinding along the Tarmac. I have the new cheap one so it has no replaceable case.

I made one of these back in the summer, and mounted my iPhone on the Tx so i could keep an eye on things. No proper footage yet though, just test crashes...
